Wednesday, June 08, 2005

The Family Dollar chain has signed a letter of intent to put an 8,000-square-foot store in the Hill District.

The project, planned for Centre Avenue and Dinwiddie Street, was announced by the Hill House Association, one of several organizations working to revive the neighborhood's business community.

In addition to the Family Dollar store, the association was awarded $25,000 in seed funding to develop plans for a grocery store in the area.
