Web site set up for missing Centre County DA
Friday, June 03, 2005

A new Web site has been created to aid in the search for missing Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar.

The site, created by Gricar's nephew, includes photographs of Gricar, as well as information on how to contact the Bellefonte police with tips on the 59-year-old's disappearance.

Gricar, who served as the county's district attorney since 1985, was reported missing on April 15 when he failed to return home at the end of the day.

The next evening, his car was found in Lewisburg. Gricar's cell phone was found inside. There was no evidence of foul play, but police have not ruled that out.

Bellefonte police believe the new Web site, www.raygricar.com, will be helpful in their investigation.

The site, which has been receiving about 80 hits each day, has begun generating e-mails and tips, police said.

There is also an e-mail address for well-wishers to write to Gricar's family, as well as the address to send donations to the reward fund for information on his case.

So far, there is at least $15,000 in reward money being offered, police said.
