New garden dedicated at CMU

Designer Mel Bochner and landscape architect Michael Val Valkenburgh collaborated to create a garden (above) featuring a French curve-shaped platform in the Kraus Campo at Carnegie Mellon University. Located between the Tepper School of Business and the College of Fine Arts, the garden was dedicated yesterday. It is a gift from CMU trustee Jill Gansman Kraus, a 1974 alumna, and her husband Peter.

For Bochner's daughter, Piera, the numbers scattered across the French curve created a giant playground (below).
