Education
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit announced personnel changes: Roger Tachoir, a school director from the Clairton City School District, was appointed to fill the term of AIU board member Sarah Werner, who resigned in March. Rosanne Javorsky was promoted to senior program director, educational services program. Alan Friedman was promoted to senior program director, special education program.
Edward B. Harmon, partner, Thorp Reed & Armstrong, was appointed a member of the advisory board for the department of finance/economics at Robert Morris University's School of Business. Harmon is in Thorp's business practice group and is leader of the strategic transactions group.

Jeffrey T. Wallace, of Harrisburg, was appointed executive director of the state Civil Service Commission, effective May 9.

Dandrea, chair of the mass tort practice who concentrates on product liability defense, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical claims; Steven R. Delinsky, who concentrates on white-collar criminal defense representation; Kathryn A. English, who is in the employee benefits area, focusing on ERISA and tax matters and executive compensation; Stephen M. Foxman, who focuses on corporate, real estate and securities law. Dean F. Richardson, vice chair of the public finance department. Timothy P. Ryan, a member who encompasses commercial, business and regulatory litigation with a focus on intellectual property disputes.
Yarone S. Zober joined Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel as an associate in the business and finance department. Zober's focuses on real estate, tax and general corporate matters.
Tucker Arensberg said Bruce F. Rudoy joined the firm as a shareholder, business and finance department. He concentrate on business transactions, general corporate law, estate and trust planning and administration law.

New Business/ New Offices
The newest concessionaire at the Pittsburgh International Airport's AIRMALL, XpresSpa, opened last month on Concourse A. Owners are Marisol and Moreton Binn. Besides massages, XpresSpa provides manicures and pedicures, skin care and waxing. Grandview Capital Management Corp. had a grand opening of its first area real estate office. The ReMax Premier Group is at 3555 Washington Road, McMurray. Michele Welch is broker of record, and Mimi Lohm, corporate recruiter.
Contracts
Inmedius, a provider of performance-oriented applications that capture, create, manage and deploy technical information, signed an agreement with Antea to distribute its ASD S1000D software solutions. Antea, a Paris based technical documentation company, will sell and provide services for the French marketplace. Inmedius customers in France include aerospace and defense organizations. Antea is the first distributor of Inmedius products and services in Europe.
Master artist R. Jean Vallieres has an agreement with Renaissance Galleries Inc. to market his body of work.
