His job is done. Now it's time for you to get busy.
Your assignment is to come up with a caption (we're looking for humor, folks) that will leave the entire metropolitan area, not to mention all of cyberspace, in stitches.
We'll announce the winners next Sunday. In the meantime, we'll scour the PG store for something that isn't moving to send out as prizes.
Submit your captions to Page2@post-gazette.com with the heading "Caption Contest" or write to Portfolio, 34 Blvd. of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

(More) Random Acts of Kindness
Two Pittsburgh stories from visitors. Turns out we're not so bad:
I want to make people aware of the GOOD things that happened while I was visiting Pittsburgh. My 12-year-old, her friend and I came to see my sister, and we took the bus from the airport to Oakland to meet her. Getting two young kids, their luggage and myself off the bus was a little confusing.
As I walked away, I realized I had left my luggage on the bus. Everyone said, "I hope you didn't have anything important in there!" My response was, "I think I'll get it back. The bus driver was very nice." ("Naive" was the word they were muttering under their breath.) Sure enough, the next day I called the Port Authority, and I was told how I could retrieve my suitcase.
But it doesn't stop there. We were doing the "Pittsburgh thing," visiting Station Square, taking the incline, etc. We decided to go Downtown. We paid our tickets, took the subway from Station Square, walked around Downtown and had lunch. When we returned over an hour later, as we were walking away from the station, a Port Authority worker came running up and explained that we had been overcharged! They thought we had five people, not four -- so he gave us back $2. (They had only overcharged us $1.75.)
It doesn't stop there either but I don't have the space to tell you about all the nice people who were kind and considerate as we did our "tourist thing." I'm from a very small town in New Hampshire where everyone knows everyone and to come to a city like Pittsburgh can be a little overwhelming. Thank you, Pittsburgh, for making our stay so enjoyable.

Recently, more than a dozen Southwest Airlines marketing managers descended upon your fine city and surrounding areas to conduct a corporate sales blitz. As we gathered each evening to discuss how our days went, we all came to the same conclusion -- the people of Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas are by far the most friendly and patient we've encountered!
As we hit the streets and highways equipped with electronically-generated maps and directions, we were amazed by the restraint and tolerance shown to us by our fellow drivers as we slowed to a crawl while searching for an address or cut across two lanes of traffic to make an unanticipated turn. We were truly awed, amazed and very grateful! Even as pedestrians, the courtesy shown to us was outstanding. In most cases, when we asked a fellow pedestrian for directions, he or she would not only point out the way but would walk with us part of the way to be sure we had it. Once, when we were lost returning from a restaurant, a woman at a gas station offered to let us follow her to be sure we found our way to the hotel.
Our thanks to everyone who tolerated our bad driving, helped us find our way and made us feel welcome! We love Pittsburgh!
