ABOARD, the Advisory Board on Autism & Related Disorders is hosting a spring conference, "Autism, Asperger Syndrome and Other Pervasive Developmental Disorders" starting at 8 a.m., April 8 at the Holiday Inn, Greentree. Research

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is in need of females ages 18-45 with regular periods and migraine headaches for research study. The study involves daily headache diaries and medication (Eletriptan) taken around the time of your period. Compensation up to $200 upon completion. For details, 412-692-2856.

The Mental Health Intervention Research Center at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic is looking for individuals, ages 18 to 60, who are suffering with symptoms of both depression and anxiety for a talk therapy research study. For details, 412-246-5566.

Special Opportunities

The Allegheny County Health Department is offering food protection certification courses for food industry workers.

The cost is $60 for county residents or those employed at food facilities in the county and $75 for others.

The course will be offered April 5 and 12 at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center, Cheswick and April 18 and 25 at the Bridgeville. A three-year certification is awarded to those who complete the course and pass an exam. For details, 412-687-2243.
