Sunday, February 13, 2005

An ambulance crashed and two crew members were injured early yesterday while the crew was on its way to assist victims of another crash in Cambria County.

The ambulance from Cresson Area Ambulance Service was on its way to an accident in Gallitzin and was traveling on Bottom Road in Allegheny when it skidded on ice and snow at 1:15 a.m., state police said. The ambulance went off the road and hit an embankment, then flipped onto its passenger side, troopers said.

Rescue workers had to extricate ambulance driver Theresa L. Laskowsky, 62, and crew member Catherine M. Watt, 44, both of Ashville. They were taken to Altoona Hospital.
