STORRS, Conn. -- Dante Milligan, a 6-foot-8 redshirt freshman, has decided to leave the Pitt basketball team and transfer to another school.
Milligan played in five games this season with seven points and six rebounds in 23 minutes. He played small forward and was behind starter Mark McCarroll and reserves Levon Kendall and John DeGroat on the depth chart. He had not played since the Coppin State game Dec. 18.
Milligan battled injuries during his short Pitt career, including a thumb injury this season. He redshirted last season after playing at Trinity Pawling High School in New York City.
"Dante has decided to pursue his academic and athletic opportunities at another institution," Pitt coach Jamie Dixon said.
"We will assist Dante in finding the best situation for him to reach his goals. We thank him for his contribution the last two years and wish him success in the future."
