St. Francis (Pa.) absorbed its first defeat in the Northeast Conference this season with a 79-52 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson in Hackensack, N.J.

Darshan Luckey scored 23 points for St. Francis (7-5, 2-1). Tamien Trent led the Knights (6-7, 2-0) with 21. Gordon Klaiber added 18 points and 10 rebounds.

St. Francis was outrebounded, 49-26, and committed 18 turnovers.

Carnegie Mellon 66, New York University 63: The Tartans (9-2, 1-0) rallied from a 31-26 halftime deficit at home in the University Athletic Association opener. Clayton Barlow led CMU with 26 points.

Washington & Jefferson 73, Hood 60: Anthony Hairston led the Presidents (3-9) to a first-round victory in the W&J Classic with 13 points. Tyler Trutza added 12. Santo Provenzano paced Hood (5-7) with 16 points.

Pitt-Greensburg 74, LaRoche 71: Demetris Pringle led the Bobcats (3-7) with 33 points. Kevin Conlon scored 18 for visiting LaRoche (3-6).

Allegheny 62, Earlham 39: The host Gators (7-4, 1-3) won their first game in the North Coast Conference. Valery Medwid led Allegheny with 10 points.

Grove City 72, Juniata 51: Rachel McCoy had 17 points and 11 rebounds for host Grove City (7-4).

New York University 65, Carnegie Mellon 54: The host Tartans (4-7) dropped a contest to NYU (9-1) in the UAA. Leah Feola was the top scorer for CMU with 13 points.

Seton Hill 72, Houghton (N.Y.) 47: Seton Hill (10-6, 3-1) routed visiting Houghton (2-8, 0-3) in an American Mideast Conference game. Elena Radenkovick led Seton Hill with 21 points.

Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) 90, St. Vincent 88: Despite 23 points from Kristin Myers, the Lady Bearcats (3-11, 3-1) lost the AMC game in overtime..

Pitt-Greensburg 58, LaRoche 39: The Lady Bobcats (5-5) won at the Petersen Events Center, downing the Red Hawks (2-6). Tish Hines led Pitt-Greensburg with 14 points, 12 rebounds.

West Chester 89, Pitt-Johnstown 69: The Mountain Cats (9-3) trailed. 43-28, on the road at halftime. Jessica Zapf led UPJ with 27.
