John Robinson Block, publisher and editor-in-chief of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, accepted a $4,095 donation to the Goodfellows Toy Fund from officials of Fifth Third Bank yesterday. The donation is the largest received to date in this year's campaign. Fifth Third Bank, headquartered in Cincinnati, opened its first full-service banking center in Downtown Pittsburgh, at 707 Grant St., on Dec. 13.

"Fifth Third Bank is dedicated to supporting the Pittsburgh community," said Randall, Fifth Third's executive vice president. "And the amount of money that we raised from voluntary employee donations is a testament to the people that work at our bank."

Goodfellows, in cooperation with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, seeks to ensure that every needy child has at least one toy to unwrap on Christmas morning. Donations are tax-deductible and can be made using the coupon below, or by making a contribution online. Every contribution is acknowledged in the newspaper.
