It's a great time to be a gadget-lover. Just in time for Christmas, manufacturers are rushing out all sorts of small electronic items ranging from pocket-sized battery-powered MP3 players to digital still and video cameras and one device that handles music, images and your social calendar. There's even a handheld karaoke player that will bring out the vocalist in you.

Here are a few gift ideas guaranteed to delight the gadget guru:

Digital cameras are always a big hit. Kodak has unveiled two sleek, stylish models in its Easyshare LS Series. The LS743 retails for about $349, and the LS753 will set you back about $399. The camera comes with software, neck strap, audio/video out cable, USB cable, Kodak rechargeable lithium-ion battery and charger.

A companion Printer Dock Plus ($200) makes 4-by-6-inch waterproof prints in as little as 60 seconds. You can also transmit pictures from your mobile phone camera to the printer.

If you're looking for a way to display those digital pictures, Vialta has a digital picture frame that accepts most standard memory card formats, including CompactFlash, Memory Stick, SmartMedia and MultiMedia Card. There's no need for a computer. Just insert the memory card into the slot, and images appear on the 6.8-inch flat viewing screen ($300).

One of the coolest things to come along in a while is the On-Key Karaoke Handheld Player. This portable little player plugs right into your television, displaying the lyrics. To make sure you sound your best, check out the pitch correction feature.

There's also a gender-shifting feature, which transforms your voice, making it lower or higher. You can even sing in an alien or robotic voice. The microphone comes with 50 built-in songs, and you can download up to 99 more on the Internet ($80).

If you're tired of packing more than one camera, Radio Shack has a tiny camera that is a combination digital video recorder, digital camera and PC camera. The DXG-301V 3-in-1 digital camcorder ($200) records digital-quality video in MPEG4 with voice-adding components. The camera takes still photos, and the PC camera can be used to send live images over the Internet or into storage. Software includes ArcSoft Video and photo editing and storage.

Three hits for audiophiles:

If you're looking for 6 watts of compact sound, JBL's On Tour Music Box Set is a nice place to start. These little speakers are portable, sound great and are perfect for CD players, laptops or desktop computers. They can even plug into a digital jukebox ($99).

The iAudio M3 from Cowon (or JetAudio) packs a lot of stuff into a player not much bigger than a pack of cigarettes. The player includes a 20GB hard disk, a desktop sync and charge cradle. You can transfer MP3 files to your PC. It holds up 5,000 songs and the file transfer software allows you to rapidly transfer music from a CD to MP3 files. All of the features, including an FM tuner, voice recorder and line-in recorder, are controlled by remote ($299).

PalmOne Zire 72 is a combination camera, video capture and MP3 player. It may be a bit cumbersome for some people's taste, but there's a lot going on in this pocket-size gadget. In addition to generating high-quality pictures, it has a calendar to help keep track of your busy social schedule.
