"Nanny 911"

When: 9 p.m. tomorrow on Fox.

Whoever thought watching terribly behaved children and their witless parents constitutes entertainment was out of his or her mind. It's bad enough to encounter these people in reality; why in the world would anyone spend an hour watching them on TV?

And yet Fox expects viewers to tune in for "Nanny 911" (9 p.m. tomorrow), in which a Justice League of Mary Poppins types views a tape of an unruly household and dispatches one of its members to quell the ruckus.

In tomorrow's premiere, British Nanny Deb is sent to help Americans Matt and Karen Rock, who allow their terrible twosome -- Dylan, 4, and Natalie, 2 -- to rule the roost.

Dylan comes off like The Bad Seed, throwing objects at his sister and telling a parent, "I don't love you."

"As is often the case," says Nanny Deb, "I suspect the issues lie more with the parents than the children."

No duh.

With a coddling mother who has slept in the same bed as her son since he was born, these people need some serious help. But that assistance need not be televised except maybe to make others with poor parenting skills feel better about themselves.

And that's not a good enough reason.
