Down the road from Storybook Forest, Justin King enhanced his storybook career.
King, a senior running back at Gateway, gained 331 yards on 15 carries and scored seven touchdowns last night, leading the Gators to a 62-0 rout at Latrobe in Quad Southwest Conference play.
King caught a 59-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Smith, then scored on runs of 64, 10 and 55 yards in a 41-0 first half. He added touchdown runs of 2, 45 and 75 yards in the second half.
King has gained 965 yards on 82 carries and scored 22 touchdowns this season, and has 3,584 yards rushing over the past four years.
Smith completed 5 of 7 for 161 yards, including touchdowns of 5 and 33 yards to Jon Ditto, to spark Gateway (4-1, 3-0).
The Gators are No. 3 in the Post-Gazette's WPIAL Class AAAA rankings and No. 5 in the PIAA. They are on a 15-game conference winning streak.

Josh Helmrich threw three touchdown passes, two to Danny Cafaro, as the host Panthers broke open a Quad North Conference game in the second half.
Upper St. Clair (5-0, 3-0), No. 5 in the WPIAL, has won its past nine conference games and 22 of its past 23.
The Tigers (1-4, 0-3) kept the game close for a half. Evan Magliocca's 27-yard field goal in the middle of the first quarter held up for a 3-0 lead.
The Panthers then scored 20 points in the third quarter on three Helmrich touchdown passes: 58 yards to Cafaro, 17 to Ramy Nubani and 10 to Cafaro.
Helmrich completed 8 of 11 for 167 yards.
Sean Lee scored on a 14-yard run and Dave Conwell on a 25-yarder in the fourth quarter.
Baldwin 27, Hempfield 0
The Highlanders had quite a defensive fling, coming up with four turnovers and limiting the Spartans to 68 yards in coasting to a Quad East Conference triumph at home.
Justin Schmotzer completed 8 of 18 passes for 151 yards and ran for a touchdown to help Baldwin (2-3, 1-2) snap a three-game losing streak.
Shane Cisko opened the scoring with a 23-yard field goal in the first quarter. The Highlanders added 17 points in the second quarter as Chris Bova ran 6 yards and Schmotzer 1 yard for touchdowns and Cisko kicked a 25-yard field goal.
The Spartans (2-3, 0-3) have lost three in a row.
Mt. Lebanon 54, Seneca Valley 30
Shea Anderson's 11-yard run in the second quarter broke a 14-14 tie and sparked a 33-0 run, as the Blue Devils rolled to a road victory in the Quad North Conference.
Jimmy Mullen scored three touchdowns and Nick Till passed for three for the Blue Devils (2-3, 2-1). Mullen scored on runs of 60 and 12 yards and on an 88-yard kickoff return to start the second half.
Till threw touchdown passes of 68 and 45 yards to Mike Mathews and 11 yards to Casey Weidl, and hit 5 of 9 for 141 yards.
For Seneca Valley (0-5, 0-3), Marshall Lee completed 21 of 37 for 207 yards and two touchdowns, one to Zach Duggan, who had seven catches for 95 yards.
North Hills 42, Butler 31
Trailing 14-0 on the road against a longtime rival, the Indians rallied with a big second quarter and went on to a Quad North Conference victory.
Quarterback Ryan Lehmeier ran for three touchdowns in the second quarter to spark North Hills (5-0, 3-0), which is No. 4 in the WPIAL.
Butler (0-5, 0-3) started fast, though, taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a 32-yard run by Bobby Alexander and a 1-yard run by Ben Ashcroft.
Lehmeier then scored from 19, 2 and 2 yards, and Matt Zangaro's 33-yard interception return gave North Hills a 28-14 halftime lead.
Chris Haley kicked a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter for Butler, but Connor Corcoran countered with touchdown runs of 68 and 4 yards for North Hills.
Corcoran gained 163 yards on 25 carries, and Lehmeier completed 7 of 16 passes for 126 yards.
Kiski Area 27, Trinity 14
The Cavaliers fell behind early at home, then rallied for a Quad Southwest Conference victory behind their defense and special teams.
Nate Kriger returned a punt 72 yards and ran 2 yards for touchdowns to spark Kiski Area (4-1, 2-1). He gained 118 yards on 26 carries, and Tim Van Horn added six receptions for 50 yards.
The Hillers (1-4, 0-3), though, took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Jonathan Berg's 1-yard run.
Mike Hudzick recovered a fumble in the end zone to tie the game in the first quarter, and Kriger's punt return in the second put the Cavaliers ahead for good.
Jacque Moser recovered a fumble and ran 74 yards to give Kiski a 21-7 third-quarter bulge. But the Hillers countered later in the third on a 25-yard run by Anderson Hutchinson to make it 21-14. Hutchinson finished with 102 yards on 13 carries.
