Neville House harvest day

The Neville House Associates of Woodville Plantation is hosting a Harvest Day/Pig Roast from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday rain or shine at 1375 Washington Pike, Collier, a half mile north of the Interstate 79 Kirwan Heights entrance on Route 50.

There will be Colonial-era re-enactments and foods, a Harvesting the Colonial Garden with samples of the bounty, an American Indian visitor, custom casting in pewter, bobbin lace makers and a Colonial bake sale.

Costumed docents will offer tours of the house, and there will be outdoor games and activities.

Admission, which is $8 for adults and $5 for children 16 and under, includes a roast pork sandwich, two cookies, lemonade and a tour of the house.

There also will be a bake sale, gift shop and pewter items for sale.

Robinson autumn festival

Children's activities, food, games, a sky-diving show and fireworks will be featured during the annual autumn festival from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at Burkett Park, Steubenville Pike, Robinson.

Throughout the day there will be a rock climbing wall, human bowling, giant trike racing and safari train crawl maze for the children. There also will be food and games.

A triple sky-diving show begins at 1 o'clock.

Just Dance Conservatory, noon-12:30 p.m.; Nam's Korean Karate, 12:30-1 p.m.; All-Star Cheerleading; 1-1:15 p.m.; Cathy Salvie Dance School, 2-3 p.m.; Greater Pittsburgh Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums sponsored by the Groveton Fire Department, 3-4 p.m.; Vanessa Campagna, age 11, finalist from CBS's "Star Search," 6-6:30 p.m.; The Corbin Hanner Band, 6:45-9:30 p.m., fireworks by Zambelli International, 9:45 p.m.

Rock the Quarry IV

Music, cave tours, a military honor program and rubber ducky races will highlight the fourth Rock the Quarry IV from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Walkers Mill end of the Panhandle Trail in Collier.

The Joe Patrick country rock group with Christine Kraus and Allison Gillis will perform at 3 p.m., the Frank Palombi Orchestra will play polkas and a variety of tunes at 4:30 p.m. and The Wild Geese Band will perform Celtic songs at 8 p.m.

Also performing will be the classic rock Bockscar at 6:30 p.m., folk rock from The Primatives at 5:30 p.m., contemporary rock by None Too Many at 2 p.m. and Worchester at 1 p.m. Dave and Jared Clemens will be disc jockeys.

The traditional sunset remembrance ceremony will honor military and civilian heroes.

Bonfires will illuminate an American flag that will be draped on the quarry wall while Joseph and Nichole Kauer play "Taps."

Food booths will have hand-cut french fries, hot dogs, kielbasa, meatball and ham barbecue sandwiches, as well as Jim's Sno Cones and soft drinks. Added attractions will be kids' games, various demonstrations and hourly rubber ducky races.

The last rubber ducky race at 6:30 p.m. will be for adults, with ducks at $10 apiece.

The winner will take home $500, second-place finisher will earn $200, the third-place finisher will net $100 and the "stuck duck" that is farthest from the finish line will get $25.

Players may purchase their chances in advance by contacting a Panhandle Trail Association member.

Also on the agenda again are cave tours of the abutting sandstone cave. Tours will be on a limited, first-come, first-served basis.

Admission is free. Main parking is in the Collier maintenance yard on Noblestown Road.

Some chairs will be available with preference given to seniors. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets.

Family Fun Nite

The movie "Catch that Kid" will be the final family fun night movie of the summer, with activities starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Moon Park, Ewing Road.

Disney Radio will make an appearance. Refreshments will be available.

Fall Equinox Festival

Several Carnegie businesses will donate their proceeds from the Fall Equinox Festival to the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall fund-raising campaign.

Third Street Yoga and the 3rd Street Art Gallery, which help sponsort the festival, will have demonstrations of meditation, yoga, Pilates, Singing Bowl Chakra meditation, holographic re-patterning, feng shui, sound and mudra healing, reiki healing and use of essential oils.

The 3rd Street Art Gallery will hold a festival wine and hors d'oeuvres reception Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and will donate 20 percent of the sales from its fourth annual "Carnegie Painted" show to the library campaign. The show presents images and impressions of Carnegie.

The fee for the event is $10, and all of the proceeds will go towards the library. For details of festival events, which run from Friday through Sunday, call the gallery at 412-276-3456.
