Dale McDowell dominated the World of Outlaws Late Model Series race in April at Lernerville Speedway, but faded on the final few laps to eventual winner Chub Frank.
McDowell, of Chickamauga, Ga., obviously learned from that experience because Friday night in the series' return to the Sarver oval he dominated again and beat second-place finisher Frank to earn the victory worth $12,000.
After Lernerville points-leader John Flinner, who was racing with the leaders, had to exit the event with mechanical trouble, the top finishing track regular was Nick Jones.
Henry wins NAPA 100
Bobby Henry, of Connellsville, earned his first NASCAR-sanctioned late model victory of the season Friday night at Motordrome Speedway in the NAPA 100, the track's biggest event of the year.
Henry took the lead on lap 17 and drove off to finish 10-car lengths ahead of Garry Wiltrout, who was followed by Neil Brown, Mark Cottone and Richard Mitchell. Rick Miller, the points-leader entering the race, finished sixth and dropped into a tie with Brown atop the standings. Wiltrout is only 24 points behind.
