A woman pleaded no contest to charges she performed a sex act on her son's 13-year-old friend as he slept, showed the boy a pornographic movie and gave him cigarettes.

Sharon Burroughs, 32, of New Brighton, entered a plea on Wednesday to charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors. She was sentenced to up to two years in jail and five years' probation.

Burroughs told New Brighton police she molested the boy while he was sleeping and regularly fondled him. She also said she gave the boy and other children cigarettes and showed them a pornographic magazine, police said.

Burroughs in early April checked herself into The Medical Center in Beaver for a mental health evaluation and contacted Beaver County's Children and Youth Services to tell the agency what she had done, police said.
