The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has redesigned its Driver and Vehicle Services Web site, www.dmv.state.pa.us.

The home page now groups information into four major categories: Online Services, Driver Licensing Services, Motor Vehicle Services and Other Services.

Turnpike

Mainline, Allegheny Valley to Irwin -- Resurfacing on a bridge near the Allegheny Valley exit and on an 11-mile stretch from the Pittsburgh exit to Irwin will force lane closures on weeknights.

Mainline, Donegal -- Reconstruction between mileposts 85 and 94.

Mainline, Somerset -- Reconstruction between mileposts 109 and 122. Traffic shifts, two temporary lanes maintained in both directions.

Fort Duquesne Bridge

Starting at 8 p.m. tomorrow, motorists trying to access Fort Duquesne Bridge from Interstate 279 south will be detoured while contractor closes the approach ramp for night-time bridge painting, except when Pirates play at home. Lane closings in place. Walkway closed.

Fort Pitt Tunnel

One lane in both the outbound and inbound tunnels will be closed every night through Saturday morning. Fire alarm and other work scheduled.

Liberty Tunnels

One lane closed inbound 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays until July.

Interstates

Interstate 70, Westmoreland County -- Construction will begin tomorrow night between Youngwood and Madison exit 25A on first section of a $3.6 million, 17-mile resurfacing project from the Washington County line to Youngwood. Preparatory road work from 6 p.m. tomorrow to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Daytime single-lane restrictions during construction. No work Memorial Day weekend.

I-279, Pittsburgh -- Ramp from I-279 south to Route 65 north closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for bridge inspection.

Interstate 79, Mercer County -- Expect lane closures north and south of Grove City through the end of May.

Interstate 99, Blair County -- Northbound closed; one lane in each direction on southbound side between East Freedom and Sproul/Claysburg exits.

I-279 (Parkway West) -- Resurfacing between I-79 and Carnegie continues. Traffic shifted into a single lane after Campbells Run Road exit and detoured onto I-79 south through Carnegie till 6 a.m. tomorrow.

State and U.S. Highways

Route 19, Washington County -- Work is under way on $1.1 million project that includes signals at Meadowbrooke Development and widening Route 19 for a turn lane at the signal. Single-lane traffic begins at Conklin Road and ends before The Shoppes at Quail Acres. Expected completion in November.

Route 22, Indiana-Cambria county line -- Ramp from Route 403 to eastbound Route 22 in East Wheatfield closed while crews build new lanes on eastbound Route 22, part of the $24.4 million Gas Center Improvement Project. Traffic detours around closed ramp.

Route 22, Murrysville to Monroeville -- Lane restrictions continue: $29.8 million reconstruction from Route 22 to Allegheny County line. Check Web site, www.renew22.com, for more information.

Route 28, Etna and Sharpsburg -- Motorists wishing to access Route 28 southbound from Bridge Street beneath the 62nd Street Bridge in Etna and Sharpsburg will be detoured through Etna because of ramp work.

Route 28, Harmar -- Through July, single lane in each direction near Guys Run Road while bridge resurfaced, painted.

Route 28, Pittsburgh and Millvale -- Single-lane closures between Chestnut Street and Lincoln Avenue while PennDOT crews drill between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily; lane closures on nights and weekends.

Route 31, Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland -- Patching and resurfacing from Route 119 interchange to First Street in East Huntingdon Township and Mount Pleasant continues until November.

Route 40, Fayette County -- Single traffic patterns at west end of Yough Dam Bridge as $25 million bridge replacement continues. The bridge carries traffic on Route 40 over Youghiogheny Reservoir.

Route 40, Brownsville, Fayette County -- Traffic restricted through Brownsville as $1.4 million patching and overlay project continues.

Route 60, Findlay -- Single lane near airport for widening of inside berms in preparation for Findlay Connector tie-in.

Route 119, Dunbar, Fayette County -- Lane restrictions for resurfacing.

Route 422 Butler County -- Single lane restrictions through summer for Route 422/68/38 interchange project in Summit. Eastbound ramp at Route 68 is closed. Crews pouring concrete bridge deck on bridge over Route 68.

Local roads and bridges

Beaver Grade Road, Moon -- Until June 25, alternating lane of traffic between Thorn Run and University roads for resurfacing.

Campbells Run Road -- Construction of the Settlers Cabin interchange of the Parkway West will close Campbells Run road between McMichael and DeVassie roads until November 2005.

Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa -- Franklin Avenue between Kennedy Boulevard and Hopewell Avenue is restricted to an alternating lane of traffic for resurfacing through Friday.

Herron Avenue Bridge, Polish Hill -- Closed between Liberty Avenue and Ruthven Street through June 22.

West Carson Street, South Side -- Off-peak weekday traffic on West Carson will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Smithfield Street and Station Square's West Drive for construction of the Port Authority's Wabash ramp, which will connect Carson with the Wabash Tunnel. Restrictions will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for about a month.

Wall Avenue, Wall -- Beginning tomorrow, road closed between Dawson and Negley Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for about seven days for construction. Detour will be Route 48, Route 30 and Wilmerding-East McKeesport Road.
