The Pennsylvania Bar Association will present its Child Advocate of the Year award today to Scott Hollander, executive director of KidsVoice.
The award recognizes an attorney or jurist who has advanced the rights or legal representation of children.
KidsVoice represents abused and neglected children in juvenile court in Allegheny County.
Since Hollander took over KidsVoice, the organization has expanded significantly, adding more lawyers as well as experts in areas such as social work, child development, education and mental health, to improve its ability to recommend the right placements and life plans for abused and neglected children.
