NORTH SHOWCASE

The newest area high school musical showcase is the Strand Theater Initiative's North Pittsburgh Musical Showcase, at Butler County Community College's Succop Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday, involving 10 schools, some also later involved in the Mancini Awards and Kelly Awards. Westmoreland stars

John Noble's eighth annual Westmoreland Night of the Stars (7 p.m. Wednesday in Greensburg) presents segments by 11 schools (500+ performers). All schools join for the opening tap number, and all the seniors are saluted in the finale from "Les Mis."

'Yo Mama!'

Heather Arnet's comedy about modern motherhood plays through May 15 at the Center for Creative Play, 1400 Braddock Ave., East End, featuring Janis Burley Wilson, Carla Delaney, Vanessa German, Melissa Martin, Tonia Steed and Adrienne Wehr.
