Debbie J. Melone, of Green Tree, has received a Distinguished Service Award from Geneva College, from which she graduated in 1978.

She is principal of Melone Marketing Communications and an adjunct professor at Geneva and Waynesburg colleges.

She also is vice president of marketing for the Pittsburgh chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators and vice chairwoman of the board of directors at Southwest Area Pennsylvania Youth for Christ/Campus Life.

Paula Sammarone Turocy, of Bethel Park, has been named Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer and the Sayers "Bud" Miller Most Distinguished Educator for 2004 by the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Turocy, an athletic training health professional for the past 21 years, is also associate professor and chairwoman of the Athletic Training Department at Duquesne University.

She was founding chairwoman of the Athletic Training Department, which was established in 1992, and has been at the helm ever since.
