Turnpike
Southern Beltway -- Construction is under way on the six-mile Findlay Connector, a section of the future Southern Beltway that's to be finished by summer 2006. The toll road will go from Route 60 across from the entrance to Pittsburgh International Airport to Route 22 in Robinson, Washington County.
Mainline, Donegal -- Reconstruction continuing, as weather permits, between mileposts 85 and 94.
Mainline, Somerset -- Reconstruction between mileposts 109 and 122. Traffic shifts, two temporary lanes maintained in both directions.

Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel
Staring tomorrow there will be single-lane closures on Route 51 northbound and southbound from Lime Street to Cross Street (West End Circle) while workers put in pavement markings and seal the centerline roadway joint. The work will continue through April 16. The inbound tunnel is sometimes closed overnight as work continues to repair fire damage from last summer.
Interstates
Interstate 99, Blair County -- Northbound closed; one lane in each direction on the southbound side between East Freedom and Sproul/Claysburg exits.
State and U.S. highways
Route 8, Butler County -- Improvement project for a three-mile stretch in Penn Township starts this month.
Route 19, Washington County -- Work to start on $1.1 million project that includes signals at Meadowbrook Development and widening Route 19 for a turn lane at the signal. Expected completion in November.
Route 22, Indiana-Cambria county line -- The ramp from Route 403 to eastbound Route 22 in East Wheatfield will be closed for four to six weeks while crews begin construction on the new lanes of eastbound Route 22, part of the $24.4 million Gas Center Improvement Project. Traffic will be detoured around the closed ramp. The detour will use the westbound lanes. The Gas Center Project will widen four miles of Route 22 to four lanes from the Route 403 intersection to the Indiana/Cambria County line.
Route 22, Murrysville to Monroeville -- Work has resumed on $29.8 million reconstruction. Traffic west of Haymaker Farm Road is on the new eastbound lanes. Look for changing traffic patterns. (Web site for project is www.renew22.com.)
Route 28, Cheswick -- Restrictions through parts of Springdale, Frazer and East Deer during work on $8 million interchange for the new Pittsburgh Mills.
Route 28, Pittsburgh and Millvale -- Motorists traveling on Route 28 between Chestnut Street and Lincoln Avenue will encounter a series of single-lane closures while PennDOT crews perform drilling for the design of the proposed East Ohio Street Improvement Project. Drilling will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, while nights and weekends will be used for lane closures.
Route 30, Norwin Shopping Center, Westmoreland County -- Widening Route 30 to five lanes from Malts Lane to Circleville intersection starts soon. Expected completion is December.
Route 30, Findlay -- Single lane between midmorning and midafternoon for another week for mine void solidification north of Imperial. Work area is 700 feet and is part of Findlay Connector.
Route 31, Mount Pleasant, and East Huntingdon, Westmoreland County -- Resurfacing to start from Route 119 to First Street. Project to be completed in November. Traffic restricted to one lane in each direction.
Route 40, Fayette County -- Work continues on the $1.4 million patching/surfacing in Brownsville Borough, Brownsville Township and Redstone. Single-lane restrictions both east and west.
Route 40, Fayette, Somerset counties -- Preparations for $25 million bridge replacement in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County, and Addison, Somerset County. Bridge over Youghiogheny Reservoir to be replaced.
Route 51, Beaver County -- Single-lane closures in each direction through Thursday between the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge and Franklin Avenue in Hopewell and Aliquippa. On Franklin Avenue, one lane of alternating traffic will be maintained during replacement of bridge overhead on Route 51.
Route 60, Findlay -- Single-lane near airport for widening of inside berms in preparation for Findlay Connector tie-in.
Route 65, Beaver County -- Traffic on Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) between Tevebaugh Road and the East Rochester/Monaca Bridge in Baden, Economy, Conway, Freedom and East Rochester will be restricted to a single lane in each direction for patching. Scheduled completion is Aug. 19.
Route 66, Westmoreland County -- Work continues on Apollo Bridge project. No traffic restrictions.
Alternate Route 66 (Dime Road), Bethel, Armstrong County -- One lane north of the Route 2028 intersection has reopened. Alternating traffic is being controlled by a temporary signal as landslide repairs continue.
Route 68, Evans City -- Traffic-signal improvements at two intersections in Evans City and at the Route 528 intersection in Jackson. Delays, stoppages possible from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Route 68, City of Butler -- Surface-improvement project on a short section is to start this month.Route 68, Butler County -- Surface improvement on a 4.3-mile stretch in Forward, Connoquenessing and Evans City is to start this month.
Route 68, Glasgow -- A bridge project on Midland Road (Route 68) will cause motorists on Route 68 between Smith Ferry Road and Summit Avenue to be restricted to an alternating lane of traffic. A temporary traffic signal will be used to maintain traffic until May 7.
Route 108, Slippery Rock Borough -- Surface improvements start this month.
Route 119, Dunbar, Fayette County -- Some single-lane restrictions for signal work and resurfacing at several intersections.
Route 119, Coral/Graceton area, Indiana County -- Traffic has been shifted onto the new northbound lanes between Luciousboro Road and the Subway shop as widening continues. More information at www.119south.com.
Route 130, Westmoreland County -- Most of the work for this project on Slate Run Road is complete. Traffic signals are operating.
Route 173, Slippery Rock Borough -- Surface improvements start this month.
Route 201, Connellsville -- Minor lane restrictions during $1.7 million drainage project beginning at West Crawford Avenue.
Route 210, Indiana County -- Resurfacing to start on 4.73 miles in North Mahoning.
Route 221, Morris, Washington County -- Work to start on replacing Lindleys Mills Bridge over Tenmile Creek. Expected to start in May and finish in November.
Route 286, Indiana County -- Road resurfacing on 1.13 miles in Indiana Borough.
Route 356, Butler Township -- Surface work, including ramps at Route 422 interchange, scheduled this month.
Route 422, Butler County -- The recent restriction of traffic to one lane will continue through the summer for the Route 422/68/38 interchange project in Summit. Crews rebuilding bridge that carries 422 over the railroad and Connoquenessing Creek.
Route 422, Indiana County -- Starting tomorrow traffic will be reduced to a single lane westbound from the Route 286 on-ramp to Warren Road (Route 3024) for patching. Eastbound restrictions also will begin from the Route 286 on-ramp and continue to the bridge over Rustic Lodge Road (Route 3033).
Route 422, Indiana County -- Seven-mile resurfacing to start in April includes ramps at Routes 119 and 954 interchanges and the Chestnut Ridge interchange.
Route 488, Lawrence County -- Starting tomorrow, traffic will be detoured from Seipel Avenue Bridge between River Road and Jamison Avenue in Ellport and Perry while the contractor demolishes and rebuilds bridge.
Route 519, South Strabane -- Truckers are detoured around the intersection near Pike Street via Interstate 79.
Route 837, Union, Washington County -- Signals have been removed on stretch in Union between Houston and Gilmore roads where crews are working on slide repair. Expect some delays; flaggers will sometimes direct traffic. Completion planned for June.
Route 954, Indiana County -- Resurfacing of 5.55 miles in West Mahoning and North Mahoning to start.
Route 981, Derry Township -- Reconstruction project under way from Latrobe Derry Road to Lattanzio Road. Completion date is October.
Route 1003, Indiana County -- Resurfacing of 1.29 miles of Lutz School Road in White Township to start.
Route 1010, Karns City -- Route 1010 (Hooker Road) will be closed to through traffic beginning on Thursday for construction on both bridges that carry the route over South Bear Creek. The bridge closest to Karns City will be closed for construction and then reopened before work on the second bridge begins.
Route 1031, Derry Township -- Barchesky Road between Route 1818 (Keystone Park Road) and Route 981 (Latrobe New Alex Road) will be closed for crews to replace a pipe and repair a washed-out area. A marked detour using Routes 981, 982 and 1018 will be in place.
Route 3008, South Franklin, Washington County -- Work to start on replacing Lagonda Bridge over Chartiers Creek. A temporary runaround will be constructed on the south side of the bridge. Utility companies scheduled to move poles starting tomorrow.
Route 4010, Slippery Rock Township -- Surface-improvement project on Branchton Road to begin this month.
Route 4027, Fayette County -- Little Redstone Creek Bridge Project to be completed in July.
Route 7302, Greensburg -- Work starting on $1.6 million replacement of two-lane bridge that carries Maple Avenue over Norfolk Southern tracks.
Local roads and bridges
Blackburn Road, Sewickley Heights -- Blackburn Road closed to through traffic between Scaife and Country Club roads for waterline installation. Closure will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Detour posted.
Campbells Run Road -- Construction of the Settlers Cabin interchange of the Parkway West will close Campbells Run Road between McMichael and DeVassie roads until November 2005. Inbound Parkway drivers who want to get off at Campbells Run will have to go past the road, take I-79 south to the Carnegie exit, then re-enter I-79 north and follow to the parkway toward the airport. Local drivers will use Church Hill Road, but there is a weight restriction, so no trucks or buses can use it. The 25D Robinson-Carnegie minibus and 28E Robinson Express routes will be detoured during the work; the 25D will operate via McMichael and Church roads; weight restrictions on those roads will force the 28E to operate via Bayer Road. Expect delays. The Moon Run exit ramp, originally to be closed for 20 months, will be closed only from July through September 2005.
Chartiers Creek Bridge No. 3, Crafton -- Crews will be doing repairs on the bridge located on Woodmere Avenue, south of the intersection with West Steuben Street, until April 30. The road will be restricted to alternating one-lane traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Edgebrook Avenue, Overbrook -- Closed at Saw Mill Run Boulevard while a new Edgebrook Avenue bridge is built. Work now is expected to continue until June.
Fifth Avenue, Oakland -- One lane closed between Lothrop and Darragh streets, near Falk Clinic, through spring 2005 while University of Pittsburgh builds a biomedical building.
Herron Avenue Bridge, Polish Hill -- Closed between Liberty Avenue and Ruthven Street through June 22.
Maitland Lane Bridge, Hickory Township -- Traffic will be detoured via Route 168 through August while the contractor demolishes the existing bridge and constructs a new bridge.
McKnight Road, McCandless -- One lane is closed between Babcock Boulevard and Cumberland Road, while McKnight is widened for a new intersection for Duncan Avenue Extension project. The $2.9 million project is to be done in August.
Oakley Way, South Side Slopes -- Closed between Stella Street and Shelly Street tomorrow through late this month for construction.
Rochester Road, Franklin Park -- Starting tomorrow, motorists traveling on Rochester Road between Ingomar/Reis Road to the Franklin Park Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 hall will be restricted to an alternating lane of traffic for resurfacing. Traffic will be restricted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. Flaggers will maintain traffic around work zone. Project completion is scheduled for September.
Sixth and Seventh Street Bridges, Downtown -- A contractor will be doing repairs on the Sixth Street and Seventh Street bridges. The 10th Street Bypass will be restricted to alternating one-lane traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.
10th Street Bypass -- A portion of the outbound curb lane near Stanwix Street will be closed for eight hours each weekday for about two more weeks for work associated with the Port Authority's North Shore Connector.
Woodruff Street, Duquesne Heights -- Construction of Port Authority's Wabash Tunnel HOV facility resulting in partial lane closures. At least one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times between Route 51 and Merrimac Street.
