IN THE DISTRICT

Billed as "Pack the Petersen Night," the Pitt women's game against the Notre Dame Feb. 21 is a sellout, school officials said.

NEWS & NOTES

Wisconsin G Maurice "Boo" Wade was released from jail yesterday on a signature bond, a day after his arrest in Madison, Wis., on charges he choked a 19-year-old woman in her bathroom. Wade has been suspended indefinitely.

Oklahoma F Kevin Bookout had surgery on his right shoulder. Bookout, a preseason Wooden Award candidate, ended his season two weeks ago after deciding to have the surgery.

BUZZER BEATER

When Columbia visits Yale tonight, Ivy League positioning and family bragging rights will be at stake. James and Joe Jones will become the first brothers in more than 40 years to coach against each other in Division I.

"I want to beat the pants off him just like I want to beat the pants off the Penn team and the Brown team and the game after that," said James, who two years ago led Yale to the Ivy League title.

The last brothers to coach against each other were Hank and Clarence Iba, who did it in the Missouri Valley Conference from 1949-60 with Clarence at Tulsa and Hank at Oklahoma A&M.
