Bobtown -- Hunter-trapper education courses sponsored by the Pennsylvania Game Commission are set for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. next Sunday at the Bobtown Rod & Gun Club, Greene County. Advance registration is not required. For information, call 724-839-7460.

ENTERTAINMENT

California -- The JENA Company of New York will present a free performance of the concert revue "Black Broadway" at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Steele Auditorium on the campus of California University of Pa. For information, call 724-938-4303.

Waynesburg -- The Performing Arts Series at Waynesburg College will present "Naturally Seven" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the college's Performing Arts Center. Admission is $5 to the public and free to Waynesburg College students. The group has been grand champion of the National Harmony Sweepstakes. For information, call 724-852-3293.

Washington -- Uptown Theater, 100 Main St., welcomes the Buzz Poets at 8 p.m. Saturday. The local rock band is known for the "manic energy and raw power of their live performances." Admission is $15. Call 724-223-8101 for reservations.

FOR CHILDREN

Nottingham -- Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a program for children 3 to 5 years old at Mingo Creek County Park at 10 a.m. Tuesday or 1 p.m. Wednesday. It includes hiking, map reading and classifying animals and plants. Children require parental accompaniment. Advance registration is required and cost is $4. Call 724-228-6867.

LIBRARIES

Peters -- Programs for February at Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road, include pen and ink drawing for children ages 4-6; "Babies, Babies, Babies;" a float and movie session; a writers group for teens; author talks for adults; an investment club and more. ON STAGE

Washington -- "Winter Tales II," a series of 10-minute one-act plays designed to challenge novice playwrights, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in the Rossin Campus Center at Washington & Jefferson College. All are original pieces developed by W&J students, faculty, staff and alumni.

SPECIAL INTEREST

Washington -- "Valentines for Vets," a program of the Washington County Veterans Affairs Office, is accepting valentines from individuals or groups until Feb. 11 in Room 703, Courthouse Square. It is an effort to get valentines to veterans hospitals and surrounding local nursing homes. Call 724-228-6865.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Washington -- Support groups will be held this month at Washington Hospital. Among them are groups for family education, cancer, bereavement, lost chord and Parkinson's disease. Call 724-223-7100.

VOLUNTEERS

Fox Chapel -- The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania is offering a free training course to those interested in becoming volunteer naturalists. No experience is necessary. Training sessions will be for six Mondays, beginning from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 15 at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, Dorseyville Road. Volunteer naturalists lead small groups of students on explorations of Beechwood. For information, call 412-963-6100, ext. 20.
