William Feagins Jr. Job: Owner/freelance graphic designer, High Impact Designs Age: 32 Ambitions: To expand my company and become a highly respected, successful graphic designer and businessman. First job: My first job was at McDonald's as a maintenance person. Hardest job/why?: Designer, because it was the first issue of a local magazine that I had been contracted to lay out. I was picking up the task in the middle of the design stage when the previous designer dropped out. I was using a computing platform that the service bureau didn't support, which meant some things didn't convert well or at all. Biggest work challenge ever: It is an ongoing, ever-present challenge to stay fresh and creative. One of the things that I pride myself on is the ability to deliver unique and up-to-date designs to my clients. Favorite stock/mutual fund: Adobe Systems Inc. I simply love the company. Away from work I: Spend time with my girlfriend, write poetry and attend readings and concerts, watch movies, produce music and hang out with friends. Dream vacation: On a beach somewhere. When I was a kid visiting the beach was the highlight of my summers. Favorite book: "1984" by George Orwell. If I won the Lottery, I'd: Save and/or invest some of the money, pay off my house, purchase a new vehicle and put the rest back into my business. |
