What's your victory message to the Super Bowl champion Steelers?
Super Bowl comments
Seattle says that you did not have a plan and that the best team did not win. I think they were lucky that the Steelers were "flat." I think that the coaching staff were fantastic. With out saying, the defense was out standing. Congratulations to Bill Cowher for a job WELL DONE, Makes me Pittsburgh proud.
-- Fred Simonelli , 3:18 p.m.

Way to Go !! Having grown up In Western Pa and now Living in Oklahoma I think its great reminded me of the Dynasty Years. The Bus is right up there with Franco And Rocky. Here We Go Steelers.
-- The Panders, Tulsa Ok, 1:12 p.m.

THANK YOU! For the Middle Class Man in America -- A team we live and die with each Sunday.
THANK YOU! For bridging the '70s team with a new exciting team for the Twenty-first century.
THANK YOU! For Passing the Steelers from my father to me and now on to my son and many generations into the future!
But mostly THANK YOU to the Rooney family for keeping us all together over the years! Be proud Pittsburgh! Be Damn Proud!
-- Roger Miller, Thurmont, MD, 12:31 p.m.

Thanks guys for a job well done..that ring will look great on our thumb! ...
-- Bob Crawford Shaler Pa., 12:21 p.m.

Thanks Bill, Jerome, Hines, Dan Rooney and all of your wonderful teammates and wonderful organization for a super super bowl XL experience. As a Pittsburgh transplant (living in Davison, Mi. for 28 years), I was so happy to see my great home team come to Detroit and win the greatest game on earth. Bed Proud Pittsburgh as you showed Detroit and the world how great a city and how great the fans are from Pittsburgh and Western Pa. I live in Michigan now but like all people who grew up in Pittsburgh my heart is still with Pittsburgh and especilly the Super Steelers!! Enjoy the moment and congrats to the World Champion Super Steelers!!! By the way, we hope that we were good hosts as most, if not all, people from Detroit were pulling for the Steelers.
-- T. Thornburg, 12:17 p.m.

Dear Steeler Nation:
What a snorefest of a Superbowl!. My brother had insomnia, so he replayed the first half and fell asleep like a baby. How can your QB wear his ring with pride, with such a disgraceful performance. What was his rating again?? 22 or 23? Hah!! The refs should be fired; especially Leavey. What a joke!!. Big Ben never crossed the plane --you imagined it. Enjoy it for now. That is all it will be for you. Your ERA is many years behind you.
-- Kristen K., 12:10 p.m.

Congratulations to the entire Steelers organization: The Rooney family, front office staff, Coach Cowher, all of the assistant coaches, the players, scouts, and everyone I missed, on a great season and a fabulous Super Bowl win!
You've shown everyone everywhere what a first class organization you are and what a real team looks like on the field.
I couldn't be happier for the organization. It's been a long wait since the glory years of the 70's, but well worth it. (By the way, I adopted the Steelers after my Colts snuck out of town in 1984. As far as I'm concerned, the real Colts haven't existed since then.)
Again, congratulations on winning number 5.
Hope the Steelers enjoy continued success in the future.
And please, keep playing your special brand of exciting football.
All the best,
-- John Miller, Baltimore, Maryland, 12:05 p.m.

How much did you pay the Referees to make those calls for you? My score is 21-17 Seattle if the refs make the right calls. Could Pittsburgh have still won? Sure they could have. But we will never know. Your win is severly tainted and that is too bad. It looked like the game was reffed by the WWF. It was obvious for everyone to see what was going on. Even the ABC broadcasters could see the fix was in. I never thought I would live long enough to see something like this. You didn't deserve to win that way and you should feel mad about it too. Because your win will always be questioned. The NFL should be investigated for this.
-- Mike Harberg, 12:04 p.m.

Growing up in the Pittsburgh area in the '70's my dad taught me to work hard with class and you will succeed. He used the Steelers as an example of that class. The class that the Steelers displayed last night and over the years has once again demonstrated that my dad was right and good things come to those who have the perseverance to work hard and wait. The point is now passed to my 16 year old daughter. I now live in Maryland but my heart and who I am is in Pittsburgh. I am proud to have my daughter wear #7, #36, #86 and #43. These are not only the numbers of great players; they are numbers of good people. Who needs people like T.O.?
-- Dave Reichenbaugh, Frederick Maryland, 12:01 p.m.

Thank you for being the most exciting team. You all were dedicated to yourselves, teammates, fans; having integrity; never giving up; accepting challenges; you all played as a team! All season, in any given game, at least one of you had shown your talent. Therefore, all of you are STARS! Thanks so much for the ride!!!
-- Michaelle Green, Henderson, Texas, 2:53 a.m.

THANK YOU FOR WORKING SO HARD! I ENJOYED WATCHING YOU DO SO WELL AND YOU ALL DESERVE THE ACOLADES!!! See ya at the start of the 2006 season!!!!!
-- Aloha from Bryan in Hawaii!, 2:48 a.m.

Are new motto.
HEY NFL, STEELERS NOT DONE,
FOUR MORE FINGERS AND A THUMB.
Steeler Fan Forever,
-- Frank Grandizio, 11:54 a.m.

Can you believe it?? Amazing Season!! Thank you Steelers and thank God we didn't have to play the Patriots because they are a better team overall! Big Ben was almost the Big Choke.
-- John C., Lancaster, 11:51 a.m.

to all you steeler players and coaches. dont leave us and we can do it. all over again next year even with out jerome.
-- Bryce W. Anderson, Simpsonville, SC, 11:46 a.m.

When the Steelers left the field after Super Bowl XIV, I was a boy of 13 watching with his dad and I thought that every season would end that way. 26 years later, a man of 39 cried with his own two sons hugging him as he watched the Steelers hold up the Lombardi Trophy again at long last. It took a lot longer than I ever thought it would, but it was worth the wait.
-- Jeff Evich, Manchester, MD, 11:44 a.m.

Just remember this moment. Never forget what it feel like. When some other team offers you more money, stop and think. Stop and think how you felt this day. Remember the moment of ultimate victory and remember that this moment can happen again. It will happen again if the Steelers remain together as a united group.
-- Leon from Toronto, 11:47 a.m.

I have been a Steelers fan for over 45 years -- going back to the days of Big Daddy Lipscomb and John Henry Johnson through the four Super Bowl wins in the 70s and continuing to today. I admire the teams of the 70's but I feel this team is the best of all because of how they got here this year. I know my dad, Al Abrams, who was sports editor of the Post Gazette for many years, would have been very happy to see the trophy come back to the Rooney family. Best to all of you and thanks for a great season
-- Alan Abrams, Smithfield, VA, 11:41 a.m.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a memorable ending to an unforgettable season. The Bus has always been one of my favorite players and now he can ride off into the sunset. Congrats to all of the players, coaches, trainers, everyone in the organization. All the hard work has finally paid off. Today is a truly great day for all of Pittsburgh and the Steeler Nation!!!
-- Brett Colgan from Canton, Ohio (originally from Cooks Forest, PA), 11:40 a.m.

As a 45 year old, life-long Steelers fan born & raised in New York, I want to congratulate the entire organization for this inspired, emotional, cherry-on-the-sundae, one of the gutsiest hard fought Super Bowl Championship runs ever. The players showed their true colors and all out commitment to victory yesterday in not playing their best game of the season, but dug deep, found a way, and simply refused to lose. The last time I experienced the thrill of a Steelers SB victory I was just 20 years old. But yesterday I got to share this wonderful, TEAM-FIRST win with my 11 year old daughter & 7 year old son; letting them stay up way past their bedtime on a school night to see history while forging a great memory for them to share with their children one day. Thanks to the Bus for 10 great Steelers seasons. I wish you the best that life has to offer.
-- Richard G. Ramirez, New York, NY, 11:39 a.m.

Stay together! Just as you have each given up a little of yourselves on the field for the sake of your teammates, give a little bit up from your wallets, and bring everyone back -- including the coaches. You are on the cusp of stamping the Steelers as the greatest sports franchise of all time, rivaling the Yankees. What better way to cement your legacy as the most selfless, hard working, humble, and lovable team of all time! And Big Ben...RELAX already!!! You were still way too stiff on the field yesterday. Your best is definitely yet to come. Lastly, Mr. Bus, thank you for your immense impact on the team and us, the fans. You have left all of sports the better for your perfect athlete's character. Congratulations to the entire organization...and yes, you too, Coach Cowher!!!
-- David Baba, 11:35 a.m.

Thank you to the Steelers for giving me a chance to experience this moment with my children and family. Moments like this do not come along often enough, it was truly meaningful. Congratulations to all of the players, but especially to THE BUS. You have been an excellent role model for todays society. Enjoy your retirement but don't ever forget the organization. Go Steelers
-- Scott A. Grady, Baltimore, Ohio, 11:32 a.m.
To the Rooney Family, Coach Cower and Staff, and the players: Thank you for a great championship season! I have been a fan since 1969, win or lose, The Steelers have always been in my heart! This Championship is so special and precious, treasure it, savor It! God Bless you all! Steelers 4-Ever!
-- Don Devengencie, Warren, Ohio, 11:31 a.m.

We've been waiting for this moment since 1980. Thanks to all of the players making Steeler Football real football. You all have a huge following here in Albuquerque and the southwest. The Steeler Nation is very proud of what you all have accomplished. Coach Cowher and coaches thanks. All the players HUGE thanks for not giving up, and fighting till the end. This team and the city of Pittsburgh has a "never say die" attitude. I'm in the Pittsburgh area twice a year to visit family and friends, now going there will make it even more special. Again thanks for a World Championship and being in a World Championship City. Finally, one for the thumb!!!!!!
-- Don Babcock, 11:21 a.m.

Congratulations!!!! One hand is full, now it's time to fill the other hand!!!
-- Leonard Hunkins,Dixon, IL, 11:21 a.m.

To the Rooney family, the coaches and most of all the Steeler players -- Thank you for a season that will live in our memories forever.
-- Gary and Melanie Hoitinga, 11:21 a.m.

Thank you Mr. Rooney, Thanks to coach Cower and all the coaching staff. Thanks to each and every player on the Steelers for not only winning for two of the classiest men Mr Rooney and Jerome Bettis but for not giving up after the three loses in a row. Thanks from every bleeder of Black and Gold who live far and close to be able to wake up this morning look in the mirror and be able to have the widest grin on all our faces and to be able to say YES YES YES !!!!!!!!!
-- Fred Taylor, Plainfield IL, 11:16 a.m.
The lyrics to that great Queen song where never more appropriate then applied to Bill Cowher, Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward and our beloved Steelers.
Thank you for a season for the ages, we never lost faith and always kept hoping and you have given us a gift and a reward we will cherish for the rest of our lives. P.S. Tell John Rooney that Chuck Dillon, his old roommate from the Mount says hello and congratulations.
-- Sean and Kathy Cupolo, 11:15 a.m.

We got "One For The Thumb." Now, let's start on the other hand.
-- Matthew R. Schraeder, Hampton, 11: 14 a.m.
To all the STEELERS: I pay a lot of money to get the NFL package just to see the Steelers play. I paid to see the BEST. Please accept my congrats, enjoy the team effort that gave you "one for the thumb" and GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU for a great year.
-- Lee Gibson, Northern Michigan, 11:13 a.m.

Congratulations. Now let's focus on the sixth Vince Lombary trophy.
-- Brian Kichan, Carrollton, TX, 11:11 a.m.

Steeler fans in Bolivar, Missouri are extremely happy and congratulate the victorious Super Steelers. That defense deserve the team ball. Ward, as usual, has always been the best complete football player. The whole team is super and performed like the super team they are. A well coached close knit bunch of great guys.
-- Vince Rinaldi, 11:08 a.m.

One for Jerome Bettis...
One for Bill Cowher...
One for Myron Cope...
One for Mr. Rooney...
And one for the thumb!
Congratulations!
-- James Steinhoff, Bethel Park, 11:07 a.m.

I've been a Steelers fan through thick and thin, since the Super Seventies, and I cannot put into words how good this "One For The Thumb" feels to enjoy after all these years. So I'm just going to say "THANKS", Steelers, for bringin' it home. Wish I could be there for the victory parade, but I'm there in spirit, along with what seems like thousands of Steelers Nation faithful in central Florida!
-- Melanie Hamilton, Daytona Beach, FL, 10:58 a.m.
Congratulations to the Steelers for bringing the Lombardi trophy back to the Burgh! Thank you for giving all of us out here in the Steeler Nation a thrilling season.
-- Brian Wooley, Orlando, FL, 10:53 a.m.

To the entire Steelers organization I say congratulations. You all did what everyone else said couldn't be done. It was a well deserved and well earned victory. You showed the world what Steeler football is all aboutgetting the job done. I am already looking forward to next season. Jerome Bettis, we will miss you...best of luck to you. Thanks for some great memories. Way to go, A Steeler fan in Columbus, Ohio
-- Eric, 10:52 a.m.

I cannot believe it. I am old enough to remember the "glory years". 26 years is a long time for die hard fans. I support them in good and bad. Many fans have waited longer than any player on the roster. I salute the grit and determination of my team. I wish I could be there for the parade, but I live in Savannah, Ga and cannot make it. I was so happy I cried. Way to go to all the Pittsburgh Steelers and their officials. Lets start on the other hand next year.
-- Pat Donnelly, Savannah, GA, 10:50 a.m.

Congratulations to all the Steelers, Coaches and fans. What a wonderful way to end the year and Bettis's playing career. Best of luck to you, Bus, in whatever you do. Congratulations to Hines Ward for winning the MVP. He was so deserving of it. Can't wait to see what Ben does for us next year! You guys did what no one believed you could! You did it with determination, guts, and pride. You are a team to be proud of. Thank you for a great football year. Bus thank you for 13 years of a great, great ride!
-- Doris & George Meyer, West Columbia, TX, 10:46 a.m.

You all should be very proud, I know I am! I have been waiting for this for many years, Great Job, Mr. Rooney, Bill Cowher and ""team"" you made my season! Jerome thanks for the memories and Hines congratulations Mr. MVP keep smiling! Albuquerque NM loves the Pittsburgh Steelers!!
-- Charles, 10:43 a.m.

It's nice to have both Black and Gold and Black and White on your team.
-- Mark M., Tampa, FL, 10:42 a.m.

Adversity is the crucible in which champions are forged. We will always remember the moments of victory, yet at our peril we forget the those equally measuring moments of pain and doubt. Champions endure and you are now champions. We, The Steeler Nation, love you and as you are our shining beacon to glory in our everyday lives... We are the solid foundation, the bedrock upon which you stand.
-- Brian Ott, 10:38 a.m.
A fan since the 70s dynasty where I grew up in Aliquippa, now transplanted to Southern California (where people don't know from good football teams OR good fans), I say WAY TO GO STEELERS! You made the Steeler Nation (and we are legion) proud and happy for our hometown and our hometown team!
-- Thom David, Oceanside, California, 10:37 a.m.

A terrible towel in a sea of black and silver I am from Pittsburgh living in Raider Nation. It has been a very difficult move. Leaving my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. My heart is Gold and Black. Good work boys sewing the black hole shut. Never again will I be tormented by these crazed Raider fans. My Steelers are number one. Of course you have always been number one in my book.
-- Khadijah Shakir, University of California San Francisco, 10:37 a.m.

I remember as a kid watching the Dallas and Rams Super Bowls and the exhilaration of those wins. This team has been so exciting to watch. Thanks for an incredible season of determination and resolve to win it all! Thanks to Jerome for all the fun. You will be missed! This is more fun as an adult than a kid! I remember when we lost to Cincy at home and I heard 'the passing of the AFC North torch' comments. SORRY Guys, You will have to pry the 'torch' from our fingers which happen to be wrapped around the Lombardi Trophy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations STEELERS !!! Great win for a Great Team with a Great coaching staff and the BEST OWNERSHIP in Professional Sports!!!!!
-- Scott Campbell, 10:37 a.m.

Congratulations to the whole Steeler Team, coaches & all Steeler personnel!! It definitely was a "labor of love" on everyone of you to win Super Bowl XL!! The whole team pulled together & it was evident. It was a breath-taking game during so much of the time! Again, Congratulations to all!! We're proud of you!!
-- The Loweecy's from St. Clairsville, OH, 10:36 a.m.

We live in Stow, Ohio -- half way between Akron and Cleveland. I was born in Pa., and I can't tell you the grief they give me around here, but it's worth it all the time and expecially right now!! Thank you! We love you guys, keep up the excellent work, you all looked like a well oiled machine, talk about working as a team. My family and I wish you future luck and many blessings in your lives!
The very proud
-- Cheryl & Dennis Archer, 10:35 a.m.

Thank you to the entire team and coaching staff for an amazing season! Thank you for letting my 8 year old son experience the joy and civic pride I felt in the 70's when I was his age. Many of my most precious memories revolve around those dynasty years, family, food, & Steelers football!! He couldn't quite understand how grown men and women could be reduced to tears; I tried to explain to him that this isn't just football, it transcends the sport; the Steelers ARE Pittsburgh, representatives of greatness and grace, professionalism and humbleness. So thank you, thank you all for not only your feats of athleticism, but the grace and charm exhibited off the field as well. I have no problem with my son having ANY of the Pittsburgh Steelers as a role model. Here we go Steelers! Here we go! Black & Gold Til Dead & Buried!
-- Kelly Lambert, 10:33 a.m.

Dear Steelers players, coaches and media, Thank you for such a beautiful season.
I was born in 1977 and hence never got a chance to really experience the 70s glory. I know Bradshaw, the Italian Army and the Immaculate Reception only by Tivo, NFL Network and ESPN Classic. I never got to feel the sense of domination that our older fans felt.
But I've been a diehard fan through all of the Cowher years. And luckily my wife and our families all bleed Black and Gold as well. We live in California now (eight years) and represent part of the West Coast Steelers Nation. Never miss a game no matter what.
To be honest, even without this year, Cowher's time and teams have been so amazing. Just to feel the chance to win every year and give us so much excitement in every game is something Bill and his teams should be proud of. I think athletes and coaches don't always realize how much they provide to their fans -- not just the wins and championships but the hope. It's the hope that keeps us watching and making us feel a part of something bigger than us. With the Steelers, the hope has always been there.
And now our hope has been rewarded. And we could not be happier for our coach and our team.
Our first baby is due in March, and two of our siblings are also expecting this year. Now we know they will be Superbowl newborns! More young Steelers fans to start hopingbrP> Thank you Mr. Rooney, Coach Cowher, Big Ben, Bus, Hines and the rest of the team for the great season... and for all of the great times to get here.
-- Nick & Monica (& Baby) Mehta
-- Suresh & Maya (& Baby) Veeraraghavan
-- Govind & Elizabeth (& Baby) Gupta
-- Samir Mehta
-- BK Gupta, 10:32 a.m.

Living here in the Philadelphia area, but being from Steubenville, I thank my classy, workmanlike team even more. These Philly fans have such an inferiority complex for Pittsburgh and the Steelers specifically, they want soooooo much to be like us, jealousy is gonna kill 'em. Thanks for the memories, Roll On Steelers!!!
-- Dan McGinnis, Northfield, NJ, 10:28 a.m.

Way to go Stillers!! You rode the Bus, you turned Ford Field into Hines Field, and you said "El Yeah!" all the way to one for the thumb!! I knew this team could get it done and you did. Now I have bragging rights here in Chicago. Great year guys. Let's do it again next year!! Let's help the Rooney's start filling up the other hand with rings!
-- Bob Tiani, Aurora, IL, 10:27 a.m.

To all the Steelers: Since I started liking football I've been a Steelers' fan. Thanks for providing me with some great games (and some bragging rights!) out here while I've been deployed to Kuwait. My terrible towel has been hanging on the wall since I got here and as you made your 8 game run to the championship I really became superstitious and refused to take it down! To The Bus thanks for all your years of hard work and dedication to the team, and to the rest of you go out there next year and keep kickin tail! I don't know what I'm gonna do for entertainment for my last month out here, but I sure can't wait to get home in March and wear my new Super Bowl XL Champs shirt! GO STEELERS!!
-- 1Lt Jim Farrell, USAF, Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait, 10:26 a.m.

So many of the players contributed in so many and differing ways over the past two seasons. The one guy who should not be lost in the huddle is Duce Staley, who had such a great start to the 2004 season before getting hurt. His success and the tenacity of the Steelers defense provided the early foundation from which Ben was able to develop. Great two year saga .... great outlook for seasons to come .... including, hopefully, a Super Bowl MVP for Big Ben.
Jack, Camp Hill, PA, 10:23 a.m. P>

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not only Pittsburgh's team, the are the the world's team !! It was it evident to the world yesterday as so many Steeler fans showed their love and support at Ford Field. The sea of Terrible Towels was unbelievable...although we expected nothing less. Pittsburgh loves their Steelers not only as our team but as our "family". Each and every Steeler has a place in our hearts. To Coach Cowher and all the Pittsburgh Steelers, you are ALL MVP's to Pittsburgh and the world...WE LOVE YOU !! PFITZ GO STEELERS !!!!!
-- Pam Fitzpatrick, 10:22 a.m.

Not taking anything away from the Steelers, I love you guys, but keep it real. There were some game changing calls or no calls by the zebras that helped the Steelers win or the Seahawks lose.
-- Jennifer, Monterey, CA, 10:21 a.m.

Hello Steeler Fans! I'm a native Pittsburgh gal currently living in Missouri. My husband, who is in the Army, is also from Pittsburgh. We live at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. We love Steeler football and we never miss again. Yes, we are subscribers to DirecTV Sunday Ticket. I'm proud to say that we have converted non-football watchers to diehard Steeler fans. In fact, I'm a teacher at Laquey Elementary School and have made an effort to make Steeler football fans! You gotta get them young. My bulletin boards and room are a Steeler's haven. Congratulations to the team, Coach Cowher and staff and the Rooney family for the Super Bowl win. I've never been so proud to be a Pittsburgher! A True Pittsburgh Fan,
-- Melissa and Will Paolicelli, 10:19 a.m.

God Bless the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thanks for winning and for bringing such pride and inspiration back to our region. You have shown the whole world what team work is all about. All the best, STEELER FAN for 36 years
-- Carmen Calabro, 10:18 a.m.

Tainted victory, nothing more. The Steelers were outplayed, Porter and Polamalu were non-factors, the offense was subpar....the only thing that won the game for the Steelers were the terrible calls that went your way ALL GAME LONG! And not a single, objective Pittsburgh fan can deny this. The rest of the nation knows it to be true. I wonder if Joey will berate the officiating this week, like he did following the Indy game? Enjoy it this year, because it will be another 25 years until your next one. ... Here's hoping for a speedy recovery to Carson Palmer and a lot of payback!
-- J.E. Duvall, 10:15 a.m.

It was my dad's in the 70's. It looks like a PGH Steelers painter's hat. How very sweet to wear it for the last 4 games of this season.
-- Larry Young, Phx, AZ, 10:08 a.m.

What an inspiration! Resiliency! Persistence! Strength! Bravery! These are words that describe my girlfriend, Denise. Back on July 4th, 2003, she lost her Husband Wiley Reed, and her two sons, Morgan & Parker, in a plane crash. Having Willie PARKER, Quincy MORGAN, & Jeff REED on the Steelers team seemed like Destiny. Every time any of those three made a play, it felt like Denise's 'boys' were smiling down on her. Denise has been through more than most could ever imagine. She is truly an inspiration to me and most people she meets. What the Steelers did this year is an inspiration for anyone who thinks they could be 'down and out'. Never give up! Never lose hope! Never lose Faith! Thank you Pittsburgh Steelers for the memories and lessons!
-- Steve Livingston, Denver Academy, 10:07 a.m.

There's time for such talk later. Listening to the city--the ENTIRE city--erupt and become a de facto 20 square mile stadium at the end of XL is all you guys need to know about how proud the Steeler Nation is of the Steelers' return to the promised land. You pulled it off the way it seems most 'burghers do...with a little significant contribution from everyone in the family... to help the team pull through and persevere during tough times. Ben's drive. Hines' plays. El's versatility. DeShea's sack. Ike's pick.Willie's gallop into history. Alan's block. Max's block. Casey's big stand. Joey's disruption. Troy's fire. There are more, of course...but we can sum the rest of the team up with one more name, really...for his character IS the character of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jerome. Thank you for seeing this season through to your ultimate goal. Thank you for staying true to yourselves. Thank you--all of you from the Rooney's to the Cowhers to a world class staff and organization--for being an extension of this great city and its great people, and for representing it (and us) with distinction and class on the grandest of world stages. Your place in history is guaranteed. We thank you for letting us, the Steeler Nation, be a part of it.
-- Danny Evans, 10:06 a.m.

Congratulations to the Team and the City of Pittsburgh. Take time to enjoy the win! Best regards, Jeff (A Raven Fan and believe it or not; a Steelers Fan)
-- Jeff Gerberich, 10:04 a.m.

Congratulations to the Steelers! What a great effort to seal the fifth Superbowl in the franchise history. We are new to town, and the Steelers alone have made the move worthwhile. Parker's record breaking run; Hines Ward's magic hands and Ben's leadership....the whole team....are simply wonderful. Thank you for bringing such great success to the city of Pittsburgh: We don't understand why everyone doesn't just move here....there are so many positive aspects, and the 5th Superbowl win sure is frosting on the cake! Glad we got out of Ohio in a nick of time...we wouldn't have missed living in the wonderful Championship City for nothing!
-- Stacy & Chuck Burris, Pine Township, 10:04 a.m.

It takes a great team to win when they're not playing their "A" game. I love you all!!
-- Colleen Moore, Houston, Texas, 10:03 a.m.

To Coach Cowher and the World Champion Pittsburgh: Steelers! What a fun ride the 2005 campaign was. The Steelers have been in the play-offs, really, since 4 December. Had to 'run the table' to achieve the goal... Win three play-off games, on the road, to achieve the goal... Beat a solid Seahwaks team to acheive the goal... Mission accomplished! The Bus is home! You're the epitome of the word TEAM. Everyone put the goal ahead of their own egos and self-interests. Everyone now gets to call themselves WORLD CHAMPIONS! Congratulations on making history and bringing the title back to the original City of Champions! Thankful,
-- Brad Moore, 10:03 a.m.

Way to go, Antwaan! It was great to see the quarterback I watched perform miracles at I.U., get the chance to show just how good he is. You made Indiana fans and Steelers fans proud! (I just happen to be both!)
-- Mary Cunningham, Fort Myers, FL, 10:03 a.m.

Go Steelers! We watched every play of the season via our Sunday Ticket on DirecTV in Jacksonville Florida. We never lost faith, even at 7-5, we believed Big Ben would lead the way.
-- The Bill Miller Family, 10:02 a.m.

WHAT CAN I SAY BUT THANK YOU! FEB 5, 2006 -- PITTSBURGH STEELERS SUPER BOWL XL CHAMPIONS, HINES WARD IS THE MVP, ALL THE BROKEN RECORDS, AND IT IS MY BIRTHDAY. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT. I AM NO BAND WAGON FAN, I HAVE BEEN A STEELERS FAN ALL MY LIFE AND THIS IS ONE BIRTHDAY THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS ON YOUR UNFORGETABLE SEASON AND SUPERBOWL XL VICTORY!!!!!!!
-- SHEILA HILL, NEW CASTLE, PA, 10:02 a.m.

To the Super Bowl XL Champions, my hometown Steelers. The world is cheering with you! From Mexico, to France, to India and back to the 'Burgh! Pittsburgh is being congratulated (and recognized) the world over because of your discipline to become a winning team. You're true sport champions. Enjoy your victory! Keep making a difference! ?Salud!
-- Cathy Baz?n-Arias, 10 a.m.

we are so happy here in south florida for Pittsburgh its fans & jerome. we had a rollicking good time cheering & enjoying every minute. coach cowher finally got the win he needed.
-- PITTSBURGH AL IN FLORIDA, 10 a.m

To me the most remarkable attribute of the Steelers is that they are truly a team. Unselfish play. There are no individuals on the team. They work for a common goal. The season was like a storybook.
-- Bill Bevil, Calvert City, KY , 9:59 a.m.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH STEELERS. This makes up for the last time we were in the super bowl. Also I think this was a great honor to give to Jerome "The Bus" Bettis. I am currently deployed to Al Udeid, Qatar me and a bout 150 Steelers Fans watched the game at 2:00a.m. Thanks for giving us 'ONE FOR THE THUMB" Good luck and may we have many more years. We have the best coaching staff in the league, I hope no one leaves and we have to rebuild.
-- FRANCINE L. WHITE, TSGT USAF, 9:56 a.m.

Hey Seattle fans, Please stop crying about bad calls. The Steelers overcame MUCH worse officiating when we played the Colts, and won the game. Bad calls happen. Suck it up and deal with it. You lost. We won. GO STEELERS!
-- Mike, 9:55 a.m.

I want to say how much I appreciate the effort of the team to fight through all of the adversity. You all have so much heart. I pray that God will greatly bless you all. Thank you all so much for the Great Season!!!!!
-- Ross Whitley, 9:56 a.m.

What a remarkable run, one for the record books!!!
-- David Fisher, 9:54 a.m.

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers, huge Steeler fan I live NJ and been a Steeler fan for 30 years. Thank you for a Great Season. Jerome I glad you went out a Champion. Good luck and Thanks for being a great Steeler.
-- Scott Haebler, 9:48 a.m.

We've been in Virginia for 3 years now and nothing has changed in our household. We are still the die hard Steeler fans we were when we lived in the 'burg. We could feel the love and loyalty and celebrations all the way down here. Congratulations Steelers and Pittsburgh for another great football year an winning "one for the thumb".
-- John & Elvira Mason, 9:47 a.m.

They may have a 12th man, but we have a Steeler's Nation!!
-- Frank Monteleone, 9:46 a.m.

My message can only be "Thank You." Thank you to the entire Steelers organization for being an amazing team. A true team, something that is hard to come by in this day and age. The Steelers are special. They have such a great legacy, and they never fail to please and amaze. But thank you mostly on behalf of my dad, I wanted this for him more than anything. I grew up hearing about the glory days in the 70's, and this years team brought that smile and sparkle back to my dad's eyes. Thank you Steelers!!!
-- Tamara Tibaldo, 9:45 a.m.

Two Words -- Thank You
-- Mark Woodworth, 9:42 a.m.

Way to go guys! Not the prettiest game you've ever played, but a sterling example of what happens when you never give up. We're proud of you guys!
-- Mike B, Mt Gilead, OH, 9:38 a.m.

Thanks for the wonderful ride this season. Even from afar (Beaufort, SC) it was a glorious trip. To Jerome, seeing 'The Bus' give so much of himself to this team all these years has been inspirational, but then of course he came out of Notre Dame-yea, Notre Dame. To Bill Cowher, you have earned every bit of glory this brings- no more standing in the shadow of Chuck Noll. And finally to Dan Rooney, having participated on the Thousand Lights committee with you years ago, you were such a gentleman then and remain so. The entire organization is a class act, and now I think I will go out and wash my black golf cart with the large Steeler logo and flag and ride around the neighborhood!
-- Carol Lucas, 9:38 a.m.

Just want to say Congratulations to the whole Steeler organization. I am so proud to say I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and have remained a Steeler fan for over 30 years. I now reside in Michigan, but have never followed any other team. When I can't see or hear the games, I track them on the internet every Sunday. I couldn't be prouder of the way the team won game after game this playoff season with such class and humility. Bill Cowher, you do a marvelous job leading the team and I wanted this win for you more than anyone. You earned it and deserve it. Thanks to the Rooney family for your continued dedication to our Steelers and Bill. Go Steelers. Looking forward to Steeler football next year!
-- Roz Patterson, Ionia, MI 48846, 9:36 a.m.

I'd like to hear your comments on the officiating in the superbowl game. Seems like the rest of the country's press has plenty to say about it, how about you?
-- Jon-Lars Sorenson, 9:34 a.m.

I am thirty-one years old -- too young to remember the dynasty -- and now I know what everybody has been talking about all these years! WAY TO GO!
David Turner, Albany, New York (formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, 9:29 a.m.)

Bus -- thanks for everything you deserve this win! Hines -- you've been an MVP in many other games -- now you have the official title Defense -- you played like champions all season. Big Ben -- we would never have been in the Super Bowl without you -- your amazing playoff performances are the reason we are celebrating a Super Bowl win now. Cowher -- you've got the power and the ring now! The Rooney Family -- best owners in football -- enjoy the win. Steelers fans -- best in the world! WORLD CHAMPION PITTSBURGH STEELERS!
-- Alicia Kinder, Syracuse, NY, 9:28 a.m.

To all the STEELERS!!
Thanks for a fantastic season, there was never any doubt in my mind!!! I think that after Jerome Bettis retires, the Steelers really should consider offering him some sort of coaching job. He has been such a mentor to so many players on the team, not to mention his obvious experience at running back for all these years. I believe his continued presence on the team in this capacity would be of tremendous value in the future. Again, thanks for bringing it home, it was great!
-- W. G.,Steeler fan (originally from the 'Burgh, but living in Cleveland, of all places), 9:27 a.m.

Congrats from Virginia. Don't let the controversy spoil the moment. The hardware is in the Burg. You are the best in 2006. Fan for Thirty-two years.
-- Pete Coker, Norfolk, VA, 9:27 a.m.
Congrats to a great team. In this day and age of egos and childlike professional athletes, this team in true Pittsburgh fashion, worked hard, worked together and took care of each other to accomplish this goal. 11 on offense, 11 on defense, 11 on special teams..what a team effort, always picking each other up! Thank you for the fine example of professionalism and how to do win the right way. Never give up and keep battling to over adversity! To the Rooney'sa huge thank you for the classy way in which you have assembled and run the organization. You are truly the class of the NFL. The Chief is very proud. Finally, I think the history books should be rewritten to show that Christopher Columbus landed at the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers and he took on a name matching the areaBill Cowher!! Love the Black and Gold!!
-- Matt Peters, West Chester, Ohio, 9:26 a.m

What fun it was to see the score at the end of the game and be able to celebrate the victory with others who have moved to the Fort Wayne, Indiana area but still think of Pittsburgh as our home! We still love our Black and Gold!
-- Christine Shestak, 9:24 a.m.
Congratulations Steelers on bringing the Bus home as a champion! I'm glad the Lord chose to be glorified in a Steelers win. Keep everything in the proper perspective and I can't wait until next year. Again guys congratulations and praise God!
-- Tonya & Charlie, 9:22 a.m.

Congratulations Hines Ward on the MVP award which was well deserved. However, of all the Superbowls, I think this was a total team effort and more individuals made key plays than any other team in history. BREAKING NEWS: The Bus in still rolling. He has a one-way ticket to Canton. May God Bless you all,
-- Tim Jerrolds, 9:21 a.m.

Embrace what you have. That would be my message. I left Pittsburgh in 1983 and have missed it every single day. I will move back north to retire.
-- Kathy Conlon, Tampa, FL, 9:21 a.m.

What can you say but AWESOME!!!! Total team effort by the greatest organization is sports. The past 8 games has been a magical ride. Thanks for many unforgettable memories.
-- Raymond R. Istenes Jr., (Pittsburgh native but living in Hagerstown, MD), 9:19 a.m.

I was in my Steeler shrine here in Toronto, Canada and I prayed with my Art Rooney min-shrine and asked him to help you win, not "one for the thumb" but instead "ONE FOR HIS SON" ...To me this bowl was called "ONE FOR THE THUMB". thanks to the champions
-- Lou Gelbloom, 9:19 a.m.

I'm a Steeler Fan living in New England!!!! How sweet it is!!!! "Ben" waiting for this since the 70's! I'm a very happy person today! GO STEELERS!
-- Sally Fitch, 9:16 a.m.

Great Job guys! In a land of Browns Fans it is great to have our Steelers win "One for the Thumb." The Brownies don't have much to say up here and it is great! It has been a long dry road but you guys have a wonderful team and made it to the Super Bowl for the right reasons. Not for the money but for The Bus, Coach Cowher and Mr. Rooney! You have made Steeler fans all over very proud! Enjoy the moment and see you next year at Super Bowl XLI.
-- Debbie Wonsettler, Perry, Ohio, 9:16 a.m.

Congrats!! We've taken a lot of guff over the last few weeks. But we never lost faith in you here in Charleston, SC. We're so proud of you for the year you've given us and this Super Bowl win. It's been a long time coming.
-- The Raneri's, 9:14 a.m.

Thanks for bringing back that great feeling I had growing up and watching the 70's Steelers winning Super Bowls. My two daughters got to see how special it is and enjoy the moment.
-- Tadd Blevins, 9:12 a.m.

Hey guys: Congratulations boys, what a ride. Could you please do me a small favor? My 17 year old daughter Kristen sent a letter to the team last week, to be read before the Super Bowl. I wondered if someone could write her back. She was born in pittsburgh, and her and I have watched games together with all of our family, since she could understand what it means to her mother and I. Thannk you all, for doing what no one but you guys and a few of us, thought could be done. We all cried tears of joy for all of you. Thank you. Good luck Jerome, and keep running downhill. I wore your jersey to my job today, and no one is giving me any crap now.
-- Lyn Kline, Columbus, Ohio, 9:11 a.m.

I've been a die hard Steeler fan since 1970. Of all of the great years I've witnessed since then, no season has had more drama or sidenotes than this one. From Joey Porter and Duce with knee surgery and Hines' holdout in training camp, to the emergence of Willie Parker, to the unscheduled press conference announcing Ben's surgery, losing Marvel Smith to injury, dropping three games in a row, to winning out in the regular season, beating out the top three seeds on the road in the playoffs, to taking Jerome back home to Detroit and winning the Super Bowl. This may have not been the best Steeler team to win it all, but was by far, the most exciting Steeler season so far. Go Steelers,
-- Dan Zancha, Greensburg PA, 9:08 a.m.

From a neutral observer, congratulations to Pittsburgh. However, it should be said that the Steelers didn't really win the NFL championship. Instead, they were anointed the NFL championship. Just as the game in Indy was rigged against them, this Superbowl was rigged for them.
-- Michael A. McMann, MD,Emory University School of Medicine, 9:08 a.m.

Way to go fellows! I was on the edge of my seat but soooooooo glad you guys came through. Congratulations!
-- Betty A. Caroff, 9:02 a.m.

What's your victory message to the Super Bowl champion Steelers? We're VERY proud of you! We wish we were there with you and we love you very much!
-- Jerome, Melissa, Alan and Sofi Pascua, Louisville, KY, 8:54 a.m.

WAY TO GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being fans of the Steelers since the rough, winless days of the fifties, I would like to congratulate this team on a truly remarkable season. The Steelers of the 70's were an outstanding team that everyone knew would win when they had to. But to have the odds stacked against you and then win it all was a monumental feat. We are proud of your accomplishments and share in the glory of this moment. Here's hoping there are many more victories to come. My children now know the feeling that a Super Bowl victory has on this area. I get that feeling again and it's great!!! THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS...WORLD CHAMPIONSTHAT'S AS IT SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR
-- The Mazzotta Family, 8:53 a.m.

Thanks...This is the the best season I have seen (However I am only 27. I missed the last set of victories!!) You have brought the town of Pittsburgh together.
-- Amy Rosenbaum, 8:49 a.m.

Congratulations Guys!!! What an AWESOME team effort!!!
You've proved what I've been saying since August right: That this was OUR year!!!!
-- Jeni, 8:45 a.m.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, living there most of my 58 years. I'm so proud of the Steelers. I was there for the first four super bowls and this team is a tribute to the steelers of old. Thank you steelers for a great ride.
-- Sandra Macurak-Birek, New Brunswick, NJ, 8:42 a.m.

What an Awesome Game! Congratulations to all of the players, coaches and owners. Please keep Jerome Bettis with the Steelers, he would make a great assistant coach and he is such a great moral booster for the team.
-- Darlene Fedorowicz, Wake Forest, NC, 8:42 a.m.

I moved to Vermont this year for a job right out of school (The University of Pittsburgh). I've been a Pittsburgh girl all my life, and I remember waving a terrible towel during our last Super Bowl trip. I missed all the playoff parties that I enjoyed so much in past years this season. Luckily, my parents sent me a Steeler package, so that I could celebrate the Steeler's stellar season in style!! I wore my Steeler T-shirts to work on Fridays with pride for MY football team. Way to go guys!!! You finally got that one for the thumb!! I cried when you lost the Super Bowl, now I can cry happy tears that you won! Great game, and a great season!!! I can't wait for next year!!! A Steeler fan whereever I go,
-- Dinelle Scharf, Bennington, VT, 8:40 a.m.

Ward was the MVP, but it could have gone to Antwaan, Parker, and almost anyone on the Defense (Hampton had an outstanding game). Ben also did a heck of a job staying behind the line of scrimmage to connect to Hines and the block he made that allowed Antwaan to throw the touchdown pass was key. I, as many in the Steelers Nation, have been waiting a long time for this. I'm so happy for the team -- it couldn't have happened to a more honorable or more deserving group of men. You got one for the thumb, now you have to start a new hand.... GO STEELERS!!!
-- Jon C. ,Ashburn, VA, 8:39 a.m.

Thank you, Pittsburgh Steelers, for a great win and congratulations on becoming world champions yet once again! Thank you for the elation of the ultimate win, and enjoy the Championship they can never take away from you. The Rooney Family and staff always have my gratitude because the Steeler ideal starts there and works it way down through the coaches, to the players, and even down to the fans. I'll never own a pro football team because I would only want the Black and Gold, and the Steelers aren't the Steelers without the Rooney family. Savor the victory you have not won but earned with the work, commitment, and faith that come from true champions! Go, Steelers, Go!
-- Tracy Wrighton, 8:36 a.m.

Your overall play last night -- and thru the season -- was that of an energetic "TEAM" that respects: one another, the coaches, and the city of Pittsburgh. It was a thrill to watch last night and celebrate your victory into the late night. I still have the "Steelers" tattoos on my face, here at work. My son's little gridder team (Harborcreek PA "Steelers" won their Super Bowl this past season).
-- John J Palmer & family(former Pittsburgh resident and still loyal in Erie, PA), 8:35 a.m.

Greetings from Philadelphia! My husband and I grew up in Pittsburgh and are die-hard Steelers fans. We are so happy for our home town! We were crying like babies! I'm so very proud of our guys and our city! We love you!
-- Karen Coley, 8:31 a.m.

I am a lifelong Steeler fan who grew up in Monongahela, PA. I was 6 when the Steelers won in 1979, but I felt like we needed a Steeler Super Bowl for this generation. My wife and I are expecting a son any day now, and in the middle of the season, I said (only half joking) if the Steelers win the Super Bowl, we'll name him Benjamin. Well, now that dream has come true, and "little Ben" will be arriving any day now to join his big sister who already has a Toddler Terrible Towel, and the Lombardi trophy is in the burgh where it belongs. All is good! Congrats Bus, Coach Cowher, Hines, Big Ben, and the rest for a great seaon and thanks for making this Dad and his family so happy! Here we go Steelers!
-- Dean M. Welsh, 8:31 a.m.

A team with heart. Men with heart. That's why we love our Steelers.
-- Rushea McCoy, 8:28 a.m.

I know I'm in good company when I write that it was really heart warming to see Jerome Bettis return home to Detroit for his final game in the NFL and have a Super Bowl win to cap off his career. I grew up in West Mifflin and was in high school during the Steelers' early, dynasty years. Because of college and work, I haven't lived at home, in Pittsburgh, since 1980. I now live in Boston; but watching the Steelers win a Super Bowl again was like coming home myself.
-- Thomas Kuchar, 8:27 a.m.

Trade Joey Porter. Even if he were the best player in the league, he would still be a discredit to the Steelers organization and the city of Pittsburgh.
-- Douglas Barber, Crisfield, Maryland, 8:12 a.m.

Way to bring the whole package Coaches. The pitches and reverses were huge. Way to go Randle El, some players (Alexander) would have quit after their legs went over their heads on the punt return. Solid defensive game guys. Come back to a winner El, we'll be back to the superbowl a few more times with Ben and next time he will play great!
-- Sanford, NC, 8:11 a.m.

Proud to be Steelers fan in "Browns" country -- congratulations -- it was a rough one, but we are proud of you.
-- Nelson & Mary Sundelin, Mayfield Hts., Ohio, 8:08 a.m.

I take great pride in being from Western Pennsylvania because I can tell anyone in the country I have been a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. What an outstanding group of individuals. They are some of the most unselfish people I have ever seen. The Steelers epitomize the team concept from ownership on down. My pride swelled even more when I saw the team stop short just before entering the field. Joey Porter told #36 Detroit was his place and he should lead them. So, Jerome Bettis exited the tunnel alone to the cheers of Terrible Towel waving Steeler fans. His teammates quickly followed and a worldwide television audience witnessed team love, respect and unity. They then went out and did it for Jerome; for Dan Rooney; for Bill Cowher; for every player; for so many who have followed the great Pittsburgh Steelers history and tradition. Congratulations Steelers and a special thanks to Jerome Bettis for sharing your Hall of Fame career with the greatest football city in the world.
-- Kip Richeal, Beaver Falls, PA, 8:07 a.m.

As transplants from California PA. I would just like to congratulate the whole Steeler organization on a well deserved Championship win. I just wish I could have been in the city for the game. I was lucky enough to enjoy the first four wins in the city. To the team: Relish this Championship, see you in the fall. To the Rooney Family: Thanks for being the classiest family in football. To the City of Pittsburgh: Hoist one for me!!!!! CHEERS FROM 300 MILES AWAY!
-- Randy Haranin, Dover DE, 8:07 a.m.

Hello. I want to say to the Steelers: The thumb is happy ... Well done! Thanks,
-- Ron Paterni, 8:04 a.m.

To the entire Steelers Organization: Congrats on a fantasic season!!! I can't tell you how special it was watching our team make it as a #6 seed and with 3 road games to make the Super Bowl, then beating the Seahawks for that 5th title. To Jerome -- We win Super Bowls in 2s here in Pittsburgh, why don't you come back for one more year and help the Steelers go back to back!!!!!!!
-- John, 8:04 a.m.

Awesome end of the season run. Congrats to everyone involved. Great team effort -- Now that we have the "One for Thumb", lets start working on the other hand -- Living and Breathing the Black & Gold in Iowa.
-- Henry Gerhardt, 7:58 a.m.

Thank you for the memories! This is a time that I will always remember and carry throughout my life. It is a time of victory that was destined by true teamwork. Super Bowl XL win defines what football is all about. Thanks Steelers!
-- Jamye Logan, 7:53 a.m.

One more hand to fill up with rings!
-- John R. Meyer, 7:50 a.m.

I am pleased for the whole Steeler's organization, the fans and the city of Pittsburgh. But what I am most pleased about is Bill Cowher wins the big one. He's a good man!
-- Walt Werzyn, Johnstown, 7:48 a.m.

I know how proud of all of you I am, I can not imagine the wonderful feeling you all have, enjoy it, you have worked so very hard for it. Yes, The Steelers are without a doubt the most loved team in the NFL, your hearts and your heads have always been in the right place, and taking Jerome home in style, was first-class all the way!!!! I am 100% sure that all the prayers going your way worked, you are all a wonderful group of gentlemen, a group of positive role models for kidz everywhere, and (I have to say it:) The BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! May God Bless each of you and your families.
-- Patricia, 7:45 a.m.

I watched the first 4 Super Bowl wins with my Dad and my brother, and then infected my sons, Michael and Matthew, with Steeler Fever. Last night, Mike, Matt and I, watched together, the first Pittsburgh football championship win in 26 years. Thank you Steelers! Now go out and win 4 more for yourselves!
-- David Sisler, Augusta, GA, 7:43 a.m.

Congratulations Steelers! We are so proud of you all. You got here as a Team, You played as a Team and You Won as a team. Go Steelers! The Black and Gold fans of Baltimore, Maryland send you all our thanks. We will see you at Men's fantasy camp, women's camp and training camp. Congrats again and it's wonderful as always to be Member of the STEELER Nation.
-- Karlene S. Staley, 7:41 a.m.

Hey guys!! I have been a Steelers girl all my life -- and this year I told everyone that you were going to win the Super Bowl. THANK YOU for proving me right! You have so much for which to be proud -- not only the Super Bowl win, but the testament of what amazing men you are inside. Few teams can pull together with each other and for each other and create the team spirit that you guys project. I have always hated cry-baby athletes that claim they don't get paid enough but then don't do anything to garner such wages -- you guys don't do any of that belly-aching and play the game because you love it. Jerome -- you have been and will always be my favorite, and I can't be happier for you. I'm sad you're retiring, but I wish you the very best -- you deserve it. Few players would do what you did to stay with us, and still give us all of your heart and determination on top of that. I cried my eyes out at the end of last season's AFC game, not only in disappointment, but for the fear that you would retire and not get your Super Bowl Championship. I was ecstatic to learn you were giving us at least one more year and last night, I cried out of happiness, for the Steelers, for you, and for us as a city. CONGRATULATIONS YOU GUYS!! WE LOVE YOU!!!! AND THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!!!! GO STEELERS!!!
-- Kelly Robinson, 7:27 a.m.

As a child who was almost born at a Steeler game in 1946, and a follower thru the good and bad, I would just like to thank you for a 5th Super Bowl. Jerome thanks for the great years in the Burgh. Hines thank you for forcing the issue for your contract. For the many who are Free Agents this year please take a lesson from Hines this year, and do not have rabbit ears when listening to your agents. Also, Mr. Rooney please be fair as you are more often than not, please be fair to these players. To players like the Deuce. Again to all The Steeler family, thanks.
-- Ian M. Goldstein, Westerville, Ohio 7:28 a.m.

From 4500 miles away in Kosice, Slovakia we cheered and waved our terrible towels as we (35+ of us) watched the biggest victory of the year on German TV until 4AM local time! Wouldn't have missed a single down, no way no how! Congratulations to the Steelers and my hometown, Pittsburgh!
-- Dave Pasquini, 7:14 a.m.

Hello from The British Steeler Nation. British, black & gold, and proud of it. I've waited half my life for this and it feels great! Watched the game with my University team here in Southampton, wearing my 75 shirt. Such a sweet victory. Mr Rooney, Coach Cowher, Bus, MR MVP, and the whole squad, nobody deserves this more. I feel honored to follow such a classy organisation. Now lets start on the other hand!
-- Simon Cutts (Receivers coach Southampton University & Great Britain Bulldogs), 7:12 a.m.

Congratulations, Super Steelers! I've been waiting for this since 1980 -- as has been the norm this year some stepped up yesterday and made sure this year's Lombardi Trophy will rest in your offices with the others. I live in Cleveland so it's interesting to be a Steelers fan at times -- good all the time though. My brother, a diehard Steelers Fan, died in October 2000 -- couldn't help wishing last night I could call him after the Game. Will look forward to all the good years ahead of you/us. Proud to be a part of the Steelers Nation!
-- Eloise Skillman, 7:09 a.m.

Thank you!
-- Robert Podvia, Tampa, FL, 6:32 a.m.

Congratulations to my hometown team, THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!! I've rooted for you all season from New Jersey, where everyone is Giants, Jets, and Eagles fans!! I've stood alone for my team(I was born and raised in West Mifflin, PA and lived there for 40 years). There really is no place like home!! I knew my Steelers would do it!! WAY TO GO STEELERS!!! We finally got that one for the thumb!!
-- Bridget Palmieri, Pompton Plains, NJ, 6:15 a.m. (but forever a Pittsburgh girl and fan!!)

I am proud of you guys. I cannot think of a more well rounded close team then you guys the Pittsburgh Steelers. You have proven to the world that you are America's team. To be the 6th seed to make it to the Super Bowl and win it is something that has never been done before and you guys deserve this more than anybody. I have watched and grown up with the Steelers all my life and had never experience a Super Bowl win (I was born two months after the Super Bowl in 1980) like my mother who is from Mckee's Rocks and finally thanks to you, Super Bowl Champions, I can experience it. It feels great, wonderful, I can't even really describe it. I have cried and been joyful through the years with the Steelers and it all seems worth it. As for the Bus, thanks for the ride. We will never forget you for what you have done for the city of Pittsburgh and the Steelers. You deserve this more than anybody. I love my Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh! I will never forget this day and Thank you Steelers for making my year and all the Steelers fan's across the globe. We love you Steelers! Here We Go Steelers Here We Go!
-- Melisa Nevling, Chambersburg, Pa, 6:01 a.m.

Congratulations to the Steelers for a fabulous game -- you've finally got the "one for the thumb" you deserve! I'm a Pittsburgher currently living in Berlin, Germany. Despite having a terrible cold, I managed to stay awake until 4 a.m. European time to cheer my hometown team on til the very end. I sure am tired today, but your performance yesterday made it all worthwile! Congrats again, and best wishes,
-- M. Schwartz, 5:17 a.m.

Greetings from US ARMY GARRISON -- DARMSTADT!!!! Congratulations on the WIN, we love you here in Germany!
-- MaryPat Begin-Ortiz, Chief, Plans, Analysis, and Integration Office, 4:35 a.m.

How can you celebrate when the majority of the country comes away remembering the officiating in the game? If the game had gone the other way and the same officiating been called on the Steelers, I would be writing this same question to Seahawk fans and players. I myself am ashamed to say that I watched the game. You fans and players in Steeler Nation were outraged when the NFL clearly tried to make sure that the Colts were going to play in the Super Bowl, yet when it's obvious that the calls were biased against the other team you cheer for it and proclaim to be the better team. You can't lambaste the officiating in one game when it clearly goes against you and then praise your team when it clearly goes in your favor. Talk about shallow, I've stepped in deeper puddles. p.s. I doubt you will post this, as I am questioning the Steelers victory.
-- Erwin Rommel, 4:30 a.m.

I grew up in the 70s watching the Bradshaw & Company glory years. My family and I would be riveted to the TV admiring their run for glory. They seemed larger than life, and for the most part were. When the team was decimated with retirements and the new age of free agency, we still followed our beloved Steelers. We suffered through the Cliff Stout, Mark Malone, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell and Kordell Stewert years, but never lost faith. We had become the "Lovable Losers" of the NFL. Always right there, but never able to finish the fight. It was painful, but our dreams never died. This new millennium has brought a new team with a new light, but hasn't lost that old work hard ethic. This fifth Super Bowl has marked only the beginning of a new age. The foundation has been laid by Ben Rothlesburg himself. This team is on the cusp of another run for greatness. The Gerome Bettis story is a handing over of the gauntlet to the new generation. Enough of THEM, now it's about US! Kudos to a dream team that's won in the face of overwhelming odds. A saga for the ages! This is what makes the NFL great. An inspiration to anyone in any situation. Hard work, fortitude, faith and a team-first attitude is what makes true champions and heroes. We're bound to lose some coaches and players in this era of teams rearranging staff and personnel every year. The stage has been set for another run for Glory. I can't wait to see the Steelers be the first franchise in NFL history to win six championships, then seven and so on, and so on... Here we go AGAIN!
-- Mark E. Andrews, 4:22 a.m.

I live in Cleveland Browns territory! It WAS QUIET HERE today! Browns fans were shopping and going to the movies instead of being at the Superbowl! Thanks Steelers! Great season!
-- Cathy Tarcson, Amherst, Ohio, 4:05 a.m.

Thanks for bringing home the one for the thumb. We may be in the desert of Arizona but we're originally from the "burgh", you have many fans here also and we're so proud of Bill Cowher and his team! Congratulations to the entire Steeler organization for making this happen!! Once a Steeler fan always a Steeler fan!
-- Lorraine and Reuben Bogosian, 3:33 a.m.
Having lived in Seattle for 5 years and in Pittsburgh for 2 years, I can wholeheartedly say that there is no more of a deserving city than Pittsburgh to be home to Super Bowl champions. When I moved to Pittsburgh in May 2003 and immediately witnessed the enthusiasm of Steelers fans at a time of the year when the players were probably on vacation, I knew that the city's devotion to their team was unlike any other that I had seen before. I was fortunate enough to meet a couple of the players and can say that their warmth and friendliness matched that of my Pittsburgh friends and my co-workers at Duquesne Light that made me feel at home when I lived there. I moved back to Seattle, but I'll never lose my appreciation for the city of Pittsburgh and the Steelers. Congratulations to the Steelers and all their fans. You truly deserve to welcome home the champions of the NFL to your city.
-- Paul Casey, Seattle, WA, 2:55 a.m.

-- Kelly Robinson, 7:27 a.m.

Thank you!
-- Robert Podvia, 6:32 a.m.

-- Ian M. Goldstein, Westerville, Ohio. 7:28 a.m.

--Simon Cutts (Receivers coach Southampton University & Great Britain Bulldogs), 7:12 a.m.

From the generation that missed the 70s, I'd just like to say thankyou to the Steelers for getting one for the people my age and younger.
-- John Martinez

What a great group of Men. They bring so much class and honor to all who have loved them for years and years.
-- From Winter Haven, Florida WE LOVE YOU STEELERS. 6:58 a.m.

Thank you for a GREAT SEASON.Cant wait for training camp.
-- Randy Fails, 6:26 a.m.

WAT TO GO STEELERS!!! We finally got that one for the thumb!!
-- Bridget Palmieri, Pompton Plains, NJ, 6:15 a.m.

-- Melisa Nevling Chambersburg, Pa., 6:01 a.m.

That was THE worst performance for either team in any Superbowl I've seen. I was wondering who the MVP would go to. Rothlisberger had the lowest QB rating in Superbowl history and none of the others Steelers stood out. I thought that they'd give the MVP to Jeremy Stevens or the Referees because they had more to do with the Steelers victory than any Steeler. I'm not a fan of either team and didn't care who won but, as far as I'm concerned, there were two losers in the Superbowl this year.
-- Dave Sharples, 8:54 a.m.

Congratulations to the entire Steelers' organization for capturing another world championship. I'm sure it won't be the last.
A special thank you to "The Bus". Taking salary cuts for two years to stay with the team, mentoring "Fast Willie", and taking "Big Ben" under your wing; it's one of the classiest things I've ever seen. I'm glad you got to go out on top on your own terms!
-- Mark Pruitt, 8:52 a.m.

Proud to be a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The hard work ethic and off the field mannerisms of this great team effort was outstanding. We love you Steelers ! Congratulations.
-- Ramon Maraffi, 8:51 a.m.

I am a huge fan from Independence, KY. I got my husband on the band wagon, and I love you all!!! Congratulations!!! Special thanks for beating the Bengals as I have many rivals that drive me crazy!!!
-- Mollie A. Conley, 8:55 a.m.

Thanks...This is the the best season I have seen. (However I am only 27 I missed the last set of victories!!) You have brought the town of Pittsburgh together.
-- Amy Rosenbaum, 8:59 a.m.

-- Sandra Macurak-Birek, 8:42 a.m.

What an Awesome Game! Congratulations to all of the players, coaches and owners. Please keep Jerome Bettis with the Steelers, he would make a great assistant coach and he is such a great moral booster for the team.
-- Darlene Fedorowicz, 8:42 a.m.

Do the Refs count against the Steelers salary cap next year?
-- Dave D., 8:41 a.m.

A Steeler fan whereever I go.
-- Dinelle Scharf, 8:40 a.m.

-- Jon C., 8:39 a.m.

-- John J Palmer & family (former Pittsburgh resident and still loyal in Erie, PA), 8:35 a.m.

--Rushea McCoy, 8:28 a.m.

--Thomas Kuchar, 8:27 a.m.

A great day for football, a great day for the Steelers, and a great day for Pittsburgh!
-- Bea Carter, 8:22 a.m.

jerome way to go youn are the best congrats bil cower and to the entire steeler team you guys are the greatest.
-- Heather Shields, 8:20 a.m.

How much does it cost to buy the officiating crew for a Super Bowl victory?
-- Grant Hoofnagle, 8:20 a.m.

That was the best playoff/Super Bowl run in the history of the NFL. There is none better. They knocked off the 1,2,3 and then 1 seeds on the road. It will go down as the best.
-- Robert Meyer, 8:13 a.m.

Trade Joey Porter. Even if he were the best player in the league, he would still be a discredit to the Steelers organization and the city of Pittsburgh.
-- Douglas Barber, 8:12 a.m.
Thanks,
-- Robert Weidner, 8:11 a.m.
What a wonderful season! Even though my nerves are shot, it has been fun. Thank you all for the great memories and I can't wait for the season opener. I'll be there cheering you on!
-- Patty Toth, 8:13 a.m.

A huge Thank you for all of Steeler nation that seems to populate the Tampa Bay area. This weekend getting ready for the game I ran into many fans and saw black and gold on every corner. I moved from Pittsburgh two years ago but, the city and the team will never leave my heart. The organization and the Rooney family are what sports are supposed to be about and I thank the team for all its hard work. One for the X generation.
-- Erik Krotz, 8:10 a.m.

Proud to be Steelers fan in "Browns" country -- congratulations -- it was a rough one, but we are proud of you.
-- Nelson & Mary Sundelin, 8:08 a.m.

-- Kip Richeal, Beaver Falls, Pa. 8:07 a.m.

-- Randy Haranin, Dover DE . 8:07 a.m.

Hello, I want to say to the Steelers: The thumb is happy ...Well done! Thanks.

To Jerome -- We win Super Bowls in 2s here in Pittsburgh, why don't you come back for one more year and help the Steelers go back to back!!!!!

Why was Bradshaw not included in the pre-game MVP line up?????????????
-- Robert Hopper, 7:53 a.m.

-- Walt Werzyn, 7:48 a.m.

know how proud of all of you I am, I can not imagine the wonderful feeling you all have, enjoy it, you have worked so very hard for it.

Even though I'm stuck on the darkside, Cleveland OH, I want to thank every member of the Steelers organization. I have been a die hard fan since I was born, 26 years and counting. Having the opportunity to cherish this super bowl, my super bowl, with my parents is just amazing. From hearing my father talk about the great teams of the seventies to always seeing my mom performing superstitious acts it was just an amazing moment in time that I was able to share with them. I can now pass on the tradition of family, loyalty, and honor to my children, which is what the Steelers organization brings to every fan. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
-- Keith A. Richnafsky, 7:40 a.m.
Previous questions
Feb. 2: Who will do a Super Bowl touchdown dance? Describe the dance.
1. Best touchdown dance? Try (Seahawks) Lofa Tatupu on one of his multiple picks. Beat the Seahawks? The only bird the Porter's Steelers will rough up on Sunday is the crow they eat!
-- Pastor Mike Malmin, Mountain View Church, Olympia, Wa.
2. Who will dance? It will be a Seahawk (probably Jerramy Stevens). To what? Pearl Jam, Nirvana or Hendrix. Certainly not the freakin' Corned Beef & Curry band (whatever that is).
-- David H., Seattle
3. Dan Rooney. He will do "the Robot" when accepting the Lombardi Trophy.
-- Rick 'The Cheese' Banas, Penn Hills
4. Joey Porter will do a perfected kick of all kicks when he sacks the quarterback or makes a super play.
-- Bette O'Brien
5.Joey Porter will be dancing after he smacks the ball out of Jerramy Stevens' mouth, I mean hands, and rumbles in for a score!
-- Tony Rizzo, New Port Richey, Fl.
6. Casey Hampton will do a Super Bowl dance after he falls on the football in the end zone after a Seahawk fumble. He'll get up, spike the ball, rub his belly and then proceed to lean with it and rock with it. Creating a new dance craze and song called "Do The Big Snack."
--Corey Whitfieldd. Atlanta
7.. I thik that The Bus will have the best Super Bowl dance. He will get in the end zone and slam the football to the turf and -- you guessed it -- start pounding on his chest like a gorilla, looking to the fans with a huge smile on his face and giving them a Thumbs Up!
-- Debbie Rankin, Guys Mills, Pa.
8. Since the Seahawks won't score, and real champions don't dance, I expect no dancing...except for the halftime show.
-- Pitt Means, Seattle
9. It will be Bill Cowher doing the Steeler Victory Polka, "we're from the town with the Great Football Team, we cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers!" Go, Bill, Go!
-- Michele A. Palmiere, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
10. I believe Chad Johnson will be doin' a lot of dancing at his cookout this week, but as for the Super Bowl....We'll just be seeing Jerome's side-step all night long, with a little bit of Ben's shooting gun on the side.
-- T.Boariu, Ellwood City

Feb. 1:
What message would you leave on Joey Porter's answering machine?
(Editor's note: We received so many replies that we are providing double the number of replies -- Joey Porter would like that.)
1. Hey Joey -- sorry I missed you. You must be at the dentist, getting the Seahawk feathers surgically removed from your teeth.
-- Sally Davis, Plum
2. Hello, Mr. Porter. I am an attorney representing the Ex-Lax Corp. If you keep scaring the $#@! out of Jerramy Stevens, we will go out of business. Please contact me at your earliest convenience so we can avoid any type of messy situation.
-- Scott R. Creighton
3. Waw waw Joey! Jerramy is right! And putting him on his back will be quite the task. Maybe he'll give you a box of Kleenex to share with Jerome after the game.
-- Paul in Spokane, Wa.
4. Hi Joe. When you get back in town on Monday, give me a call and I'll stop over and help you scrape what's left of Jerramy Stevens off your cleats.
-- Ken Petri
5. Oops, sorry. This is Kimberly. Jerramy Stevens gave me this number at the party last night. Dang!
-- Rob McMillan, Katy, Texas
6. Hey Joey. Jerramy Stevens thinks you're the soft one, soft and fuzzy like the Easter bunny.
-- Craig Mullen, Warren, Pa.
7. Joey, could you please autograph and send me Shaun Alexander's helmet that you took off with that awesome tackle in the first quarter of Super Bowl XL? P.S. You can keep the head that was in the helmut. Nice hit!
-- Larry Segeleon, Virginia Beach, Va.
8. Joey -- have you considered a career as a motivational speaker?
-- Maryanne Debies, Rochester, N.Y.
9. Joey -- Marry me!
-- Hilal Edebal, Istanbul, Turkey
10. Hi Joey, this is ....unable to leave full message due to Joey talking too much on the greeting.
-- Mike Watson, Erie, Pa.
11. Hey Joey...Just got a text message from Matt Hasselbeck. He says you tackle like a school girl and that he guarantees you won't sack him during the Super Bowl. Just thought you should know.
-- Nick Hammond, Greenville, Texas
12. Yeah, hey, uh, this is like Matt Hasselbeck. I borrowed your Camaro...Hey man, just be glad I had fast reflexes.
-- Steven Carlisle
13. Joey -- Matt Hasselback said your mama wears Army boots.
-- Scott Martin, Charlotte, N.C.
14. Hey Joey. There's no need to talk before the event, just let your performance speak for itself, that's what I always did.
-- Muhammad Ali (alias Jeff Lavorgna)
15. Joey. Congratulations on making it to the Super Bowl AND for restructuring your contract -- looks like $10 per word is working out well for you.
-- Al Sartoris
16. Joey, the only words I want to hear coming out of your mouth between now and Sunday night are when you say, "I'm going to Disney World" at the end of the game.
-- Terry Hammer
17. Joey, this is Peyton Manning, you know, Eli's brother. Could you sign a loaf of bread for me? I was going to ask you last week, but you seemed kinda angry. Thanks.
-- Jack Munley, Chesapeake, Va.
18. Hey Joey, Peyton Manning again. Um, do you have any extra tickets to the Super Bowl? I, um, thought maybe this year I wouldn't need one, but well, you know...
-- Jack Munley
19. Hello Mr. Joey Porter ... Da boot those flock of seagulls out of Detroit and send them airmail back to Seattle.
-- Glen Moore
20. Mr. Porter: I just want you to know that many Seahawk fans and players believe you are nothing more than a big mouth. As a Steeler fan, I need you to prove to them that you're not a big mouth but that you only speak the truth. You need to get worked up. I don't know what you need to do that, but just do it! If you don't, Jerome's career might just end without that trophy. And besides, if you don't get fired up, you may not be able to find Jerramy Stevens at the 50 yard line -- he'll be in the end zone. The Steelers' end zone!
-- Mary Gnipp, Bellaire, Texas

Jan. 31:
"What's the silliest thing you would do to get a ticket to Sunday's Super Bowl?"
1. I am quite sure that environmentalists and PETA would be against this, but I'd be willing to pluck, clean and deep-fry as many Seahawks as neccessary for my Superbowl tailgate party.
-- Jason Russell
2. I'd dress as a Seattle Seahawk fan and let people think I was a LOSER!
-- Susan Capozzoli
3. I would allow myself to get sucked into and consequently browbeaten for two weeks by all the inane media hype leading up to "the BIG GAME."
-- Bernie McGarland
4. I would postpone my wedding and honeymoon to Tahiti/Bora Bora so my fiance would be able to go to the Super Bowl at least once in his life. (True story).
-- Elizabeth Davies, Alexandria, Va.
5. I would wear a black and gold bikini and dive into a snow bank in the "Burgh" or Detroit.
-- Michele A. Palmiere, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
6.I would drive/fly to Pittsburgh and leisurely stroll (that's right I said stroll) the Golden Triangle buck naked with a Steeler helmet on to get tickets.
-- Corey Whitfield, Atlanta
7. I would consider giving Terrell Owens a job. Oops, someone already thought of that, didn't they?
-- Robert Igoe, Bedford, Pa.
8a. . I would spray paint gold stripes on my black truck and drive it proudly to Detroit!
-- Doug Lancaster, Mt. Sterling, Ky.
8b. l would walk all the way home from Detroit (to Charlotte, NC) after the game.
-- Eric Sabo, Charlotte, N.C.
9. Since I live in Ohio, I would buy a Browns fan a drink and tell him that Cleveland isn't that bad of a team. I'd have to take a drink first, though.
-- Matthew Downey, Mt. Vernon, Ohio
10. I would paint my face, wear a # 39 jersey and go to work. Last time I did that, (the first Steeler/Raven game), two men picked me up by the elbows and started carrying me down the street (as if) they were kidnapping me. (another true story).
-- Kim Latterner, Baltimore, Md.
And one extra, from Brent Muskin in Kansas City: Hmmm. I would spray paint my Suzuki black and gold and get a tattoo of the Steelers and drive it to arrowhead stadium and do as much of a dash as I could manage until I hit the 50 yard line waving my Terrible Towel and then drive back north and run through 2 of the fountains screaming, I GOT A FEELING PITTSBURGH' S GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL..again waving my Terrible Towell. Shirtless all the time while pointing to my new tattoo. basically anything it would take to get me to the big dance. I am the same guy who has driven to Heinz Field from KC and followed them to 2 road games. So I am diehard, baby.

What Ben Roethlisberger memorabilia would you like to have?
1. The gloves Ben was wearing when he made 'the tackle' (against the Colts).

-- Tom Bunevich, Tampa, Fl. (and) Gary Figas, Parkland, Fl.
3. Isn't it obvious? His beard! (once he shaves it, of course.)
-- David Prybock, Richmond, Va.
4. A Big Ben newborn outfit for my third grandchild, who was a preemie.
-- Mary Ellen Dominiczak
5. An official NFL signed football.
