ART

McCandless -- High school students from around the region will show off their artistic skills during Scholar â€" Art 2009, the third exhibit of Scholar students in Art and Design, tomorrow through Feb. 15, in La Roche College's Cantellops Art Gallery, 9000 Babcock Blvd. The exhibit will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Butler -- Butler County Community College Succop Theater will present the Celtic music group The McDades at 8 p.m. Feb. 13. Admission is $18 in advance, $22 at the door and $10 for students. Richland -- Neil Simon's romance, "Chapter Two," will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Feb 13 and 14 at Kean Theatre in The Washington Place, 5847 Meridian Road. Optional dinner at Atria's Restaurant & Tavern will begin at 6 p.m. General admission is $22; dinner and show, $44. Matinee performance at 2 p.m. Friday has optional lunch at Atria's at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for the show only, $38 for lunch and show. Call 724-444-5326.

MEETINGS

Pine -- The next meeting of Concerned Parents and Advocates will focus on the advocate's role in preparing a family for due process. It will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Total Learning Centers, 12045 Perry Highway. Registration and networking begins at 9:30 a.m. with a light breakfast. The workshop starts at 10 a.m. Admission is free, but registration is requested. Call 724-940-1090.

RECREATION

Marshall -- The township will sponsor a sledding day from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday on Sledding Hill in Knob Hill Park, Knob Hill Road. Free hot dogs and cocoa will be available. Registration is required; call 724-935-3090.

SPECIAL INTEREST

Cranberry -- The township will hold a Wii Sports Championship Tournament on Friday in the municipal center, 2525 Rochester Road. The tournament is open to anyone 10 to 14 years old for a fee of $5 for residents or $7 for others. Winners of individual sports will compete against one another in all five competitions to determine the Ultimate Wii Champion. To register, call 724-776-4806, ext. 1129.

Cranberry -- The Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regional Barista Competition, presented by the Specialty Coffee Association of America, will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Friday through next Sunday at the Pittsburgh Marriott North. The event, which will resemble activities on the "Iron Chef" television show, will be hosted by Kiva Han Coffee and include a barista competition, dessert bar, demonstrations and vendor booths. Admission to the barista competition is free. Tickets for the dessert sampling are $10, which includes a specialty coffee beverage. Advance tickets are $8. Proceeds benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. To purchase tickets, visit www.kivahan.com/barista or visit the office of Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau, 310 E.
