ART

Beaver Falls -- Paintings and sculpture by Aliquippa artist Douglas Wynn will be displayed next Thursday through Nov. 13 at the Center for Creative Arts Expression, 1217 7th Ave. An opening reception will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. For gallery hours, call 724-847-5640.

CONCERTS

Carnegie -- "Songs That Oscar Taught Me," featuring works by Oscar Hammerstein, will be at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall, 300 Beechwood Ave. Tickets are $125 each. Proceeds will benefit the capital campaign to restore the building. For information, call 412-276-3456.

Coraopolis -- Harvest Songfest, featuring Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus, associated with Sweet Adelines International, will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Coraopolis United Methodist Church, 1205 Ridge Ave.

DINING OUT

Bridgeville -- St. George Orthodox Church, 610 Dewey Ave., will hold the Feast from the East from 4 to 8 p.m. tomorrow; noon to 8 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds from the ethnic food fair will benefit the building fund. Admission is free.

Robinson -- Montours Presbyterian Church, 3151 Montour Church Road, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Costs are $6 for adults and $3 for children 5-12. There also will be bake sale and ticket auction.

South Fayette -- Bridgeville Rotary club will hold its annual Chili Cook-Off Competition from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Fairview Park. An admission of $10 for adults and $4 for children 6-12, entitles ticket holders to taste the chili made by 17 entrants and then cast their ballots. There will be entertainment, a ticket auction and raffles.

LIBRARIES

Beaver -- "From Nature Study to Environmental Literacy: Rachel Carson as Teacher" will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Beaver Area Memorial Library, 100 College Ave. Attendance is free.

Green Tree -- Storyteller Alan Irvine will present scary tales for young adults and adults beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday in Green Tree Public Library, 10 W. Manilla Ave. Registration is required for the free session at 412-921-9292.

North Fayette -- A financial advisor will discuss the safety of investments and other financial concerns at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Western Allegheny Community Library, 8042 Steubenville Pike. Register at 724-695-8150.

Robinson -- The switch from analog to digital television signals scheduled for February will be discussed at 6:30 tonight in Robinson Township Library, 1000 Church Hill Road. Rosemary Martinelli of WQED-TV will be the speaker.

ON STAGE

Beaver -- The Bobcat Players will present "Arsenic and Old Lace" at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday and next Thursday and Oct. 17 at the Beaver Area High School theater, Gypsy Glen Road. Doors open at 6:45. A matinee will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5. Call 724-774-3655.

Ingram -- Church of the Ascension, 114 Berry St., will have a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

SOCIAL

Collier -- St. Louise de Marillac Guild, Upper St. Clair, will host its annual Coronet Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Club at Nevillewood. It includes a fashion show. Donation is $30. Deadline to RSVP is tomorrow at 412-851-6764.

SPECIAL INTEREST

Carnegie -- Antique appraisals will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Carnegie Volunteer Fire Hall, Main Street, sponsored by Carnegie Business and Professional Women. Admission is $5. Proceeds benefit local charities.

TOURS

Ingram -- Walking tours of Ingram will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, beginning in Memorial Hall at Ingram Borough Building, 40 W. Prospect Ave. The Ingram Historical Society will lead the tours that leave at 1:30 and 3. For details, call 412-919-0779.
