CLASSES

Washington - The American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Region will offer classes in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator at these times and dates at 24 E. Maiden St.

• CPR/AED (adult), 5:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday; $45.

• Standard First Aid with CPR/AED (adult), 5:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and next Thursday; $55.

• First Aid, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. next Thursday; $40.

• Online course with a skill session from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 22.

DINING OUT

Scott - Our Lady of Grace School Athletic Association will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and the school will be open for tours from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. An open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 14. Tours also are given at 9:30 a.m. every Thursday. For details, visit www.olgscott.net.

FUNDRAISERS

Pleasant Hills - A Family Sweetheart Dance will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road. In addition to dancing, the event will include refreshments, raffles and games. Proceeds benefit the Pleasant Hills Community Day 2010. Deadline is Friday for discount prices: $15 per couple, $25 for a family of four, $5 each additional person. For reservations postmarked after Friday or for tickets at the door: $20 per couple, $30 for a family of four, $7.50 for each additional person. HEALTH

McKeesport - UPMC McKeesport will offer a variety of health screenings in recognition of American Heart Association's national Wear Red for Women Day. The free screenings will be given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the hospital's Kelly Conference Center on the ground floor of the Kelly building. Free parking in the hospital's garage. HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS

Nottingham - A Valentine Candlelight Night Hike, sponsored by the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation, will be held at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday at Mingo Creek County Park, Shelter 4. Luminaria will light the paved walking trail, and the hike will conclude with a campfire and hot chocolate. Participants should bring a flashlight. Free. Registration required. Call 724-228-6867.

West Mifflin - In honor of Black History Month, the Community College of Allegheny County will host these events at its south campus, 1750 Clairton Road/Route 885:

Whitehall - The Baldwin Whitehall Soccer Association will hold its final in-person registration for the spring 2010 season from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the community room at the borough building, 100 Borough Park Drive.
