Pet Tales: Celebrate with the Fairmont's lobby greeter

The canine ambassador at Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel is celebrating her fourth birthday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, and we're all invited, including friendly, well-behaved dogs. Adoptable dogs from the Animal Friends shelter are coming to the party.

Edie, a white boxer-Labrador retriever mix, works five days per week greeting hotel guests as they enter the lobby and escorting them on walks.

Instead of bringing gifts for Edie, partiers are asked to bring a donation for the Ohio Township shelter. Pastry chef James Wroblewski will prepare dog-friendly treats. There will be refreshments and a raffle for people.
