$21,000 for shelter dogs from auto dealer

Two big brown-and-black brindle shelter dogs stopped in at Day Apollo Subaru in Moon on Monday as checks totaling more than $21,000 were presented to Animal Friends.

Dinali and JP were ambassadors for the Ohio Township shelter that took them in, several weeks ago. The 7-year-old, 80-pound brothers wagged tails and campaigned for head pats and belly rubs while auto dealer Debbie Numrich Campbell gave the checks to Cassandra Dixon, director of events and corporate giving at Animal Friends.

Mrs. Campbell said the money was raised from November through Jan. 3 during Subaru of America’s Share the Love Event. Subaru donated $250 to the dealership’s chosen charity for every car sold or leased during that time frame.

Mrs. Campbell has been an Animal Friends board member for the past three years. She is a principal in the company that owns Day Apollo Subaru in Moon and Day West Liberty Subaru in Dormont.
