Penguins center Evgeni Malkin and defenseman Kris Letang are returning to the lineup tonight against Buffalo at Consol Energy Center, coach Dan Byllsma said.
Malkin has missed the past four games because of a nagging shoulder problem. Letang missed the team's past game, a 3-1 win Monday at Ottawa because of food poisoning.
Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who did not make the trip to Ottawa because his wife is due anytime to give birth to their first child, is starting tonight.
Those two players were among seven who participated in an option morning skate. So did defenseman Paul Martin, who is recovering from hand surgery and had not previously skated with his teammates.
Winger James Neal, who is recovering from a concussion, and center Sidney Crosby, who had surgery for a broken jaw, skated earlier in the morning, Bylsma said, adding that Neal is close to being ready to participate in a full practice but there is no timetable for Crosby's return.
