OTTAWA -- The Penguins broke a two-game losing streak with a 2-1 shootout win over the Ottawa Senators tonight at Scotiabank Place.
All three Penguins in the shootout -- James Neal, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scored in the shootout for the Penguins.
Although Ottawa brought more offensive pressure early in the game, the Penguins scored first.
Neal, from the right dot, sent a blistering one-timer past Senators goaltender Craig Anderson to make it 1-0 at 13:13. Neal was set up on a nice cross-ice pass from Malkin. The assist gave Malkin 324 for his career, tying him with Rick Kehoe for seventh place in Penguins history.
The Senators pulled even, 1-1, at 13:44 of the second period when Colin Greening scored on a rebound of a Jason Spezza shot.
The Penguins return home to face the New York Islanders on Tuesday at Consol Energy Center.mobilehome - homepage - penguins
