Penguins deal Western Pennsylvania native Guenin

The Penguins have acquired defenseman Steve Wagner from St. Louis for defenseman Nate Guenin.

Wagner, who will report to the Penguins' farm team in Wilkes-Barre, spent the past three-plus seasons with the Blues' organization. He had four goals and eight assists in 46 NHL appearances.

Wagner, 25, is 6 foot 1, 200 pounds, and put up 15 goals and 37 assists In 130 games with Blues' American Hockey League affiliate in Peoria, Ill.

Guenin is one of three Western Pennsylvania natives to play for the Penguins. The others are Ryan Malone and Bill Thomas.
