NEW YORK -- Penguins center Sidney Crosby has been named the NHL's first star for the week ending yesterday.

New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur and Toronto left winger Niklas Hagman were the second and third stars, respectively.

Crosby led all scorers with eight points in the Penguins' four games.

Five of those came in an 8-3 victory against the New York Rangers Saturday.
