Penguins send down goalie, set opening day roster

The Penguins sent goalie Dany Sabourin to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre today, setting their 23-man roster for tomorrow's season-opener against Philadelphia.

It includes forwards Colby Armstrong, Sidney Crosby, Nils Ekman, John LeClair, Evgeni Malkin, Ryan Malone, Dominic Moore, Michel Ouellet, Mark Recchi, Andre Roy, Jarkko Ruutu, Jordan Staal, Karl Stewart and Chris Thorburn, defensemen Mark Eaton, Sergei Gonchar, Kris Letang, Josef Melichar, Brooks Orpik, Rob Scuderi and Ryan Whitney and goalies Marc-Andre Fleury and Jocelyn Thibault.

Thorburn was claimed on waivers from Buffalo today.

Defenseman Eric Cairns and winger Ronald Petrovicky are on injured-reserve.
