What to do: Most Pennsylvania State Parks are managed by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Oversight of Hillman State Park -- nearly 4,100 acres of mostly undeveloped land in northwestern Washington County -- is the responsibility of the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Part of the Raccoon Creek Valley Natural Area, Hillman is the only state park in Washington County and links the Kings Creek and Raccoon Creek sub-watersheds. It's a wild area with no amenities except trails open to the public year-round for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing. Hunting is permitted during established seasons.

Each week, GET out features an area getaway so you can GETout to where the action is.
