Zina Grogg, a former PIAA champion swimmer at Moon High School, was recently named the Atlantic Coast Conference co-swimmer of the week.

Grogg, a senior at North Carolina State, won one event and finished second in another against Virginia Tech, and won two events in a tri-meet against Florida State and Georgia Tech. A year ago, Grogg broke the school record in the 100 butterfly.

• Former West Mifflin wrestler James Fleming is a senior at Clarion University who is ranked No. 4 in the country in NCAA Division I in the 157-pound division. Fleming recently got his 114th win at Clartion, which moved him into 13th place on the school's all-time list. A year ago, Fleming was an All-American after finishing fifth at the NCAA championships.

• Madison Cable, a former Post-Gazette girls basketball player of the year at Mt. Lebanon High School, has had a big impact on the Notre Dame women's team over the past two weeks. Notre Dame, ranked No. 2 in the country, had a big victory against No. 9 Tennessee Monday and Cable had nine points and five rebounds. She made 4 of 6 shots from the field, including 1 of 2 from 3-point range. Over the past five games, Cable, a sophomore, has averaged nine points and five rebounds. She has shot 70 percent (19 of 27) from the field and 60 percent (6 of 10) from 3-point range.
