“Here we go, PSO, here we go!” Don’t yinz realize that demanding “concessions” from our musicians is insultingly absurd? Would the Steelers organization expect Ben Roethlisberger to take a pay cut after nailing a perfect passing game and running for 35 yards?
Following the 9.7 percent salary cut the players graciously accepted in 2011, Pittsburgh’s symphony continuously performs with soul, with excellence and, often, with sublimity.
If the PSO’s suits and bean counters did their jobs half as well as our orchestra and Manfred Honeck do theirs, no financial deficit would exist. Period.
