It was with profound sadness that I read about the deaths of two young men, Sean F. Hindman and Geoffrey Eatman in the Sept. 24 article “Two Families Devastated by Overdoses.”
In the midst of their pain, both families made the brave decision to include the struggle with drug addiction in their sons’ obituaries.
I applaud their courage, along with other families who have lost a beloved son or daughter, sister or brother, for speaking out about the disease of addiction.
It is for these families that we, along with other service providers, will continue to work toward increasing access to quality addiction treatment and curbing this terrible epidemic that has been destroying so many lives for so long.
