The Post-Gazette front page should feature good news for a change

Saturday’s front page was absolutely appalling! I realize in the news business the saying goes “if it bleeds it leads,” but having two color photographs of a local shooting and Hamas executions was not only disturbing but also totally unnecessary.

I understand these events are newsworthy (or are they?), but at least be sensitive and sensible and put them on the inside pages. What happened to photographs and articles of the good that is going on in the world? Oh, that’s right … they don’t sell newspapers, or do they?

If you are expecting these types of photographs and news coverage to increase your readership, I hate to tell you it’s not going to work.
