Even the United Nations is unable to end the world's turmoil

Throw a dart at a world map and you are quite likely to come upon a region in deep strife, chaos and or even war. It’s a sad commentary. Instead of zeroing in on the individual sectors — and they are many — I would just like to make a statement in general.

Whatever became of sensible meaningful discussion before entering into the ensuing terrible loss of life and destruction? When I see “breaking news” flash on my TV screen I shudder to think what is coming next. Where is the leadership? We have a body known as the United Nations created to control these types of things but all attempts land on deaf ears. You don`t have to look further than what we are now witnessing in the Middle East and Ukraine to prove the point.

We have this one planet to inhabit, and we are not doing a very good job of finding a way to live in it side by side. Isn’t it time we see some sort of peace and calm? Or are we destined to live in almost constant turmoil and hostility? I pray not.
