News coverage of a costly wedding was way over the top

We were appalled on Monday morning after reading the details of the Nocito-Wukich wedding in the Seen column (July 28). We have no problem with a family having a private wedding of their choice when money is no concern. But were the egregious details that newsworthy to justify six columns of print and photographs? Quoting the prices of the wedding gown ($16,800), the wedding veil ($5,600), the “fun facts” and the time-line account of this affair was needlessly over the top.

Were we the only people in Pittsburgh who didn’t have a clue as to who the couple are or care that much about their extravaganza? The new Seen editor needs a reality check.

P.S. — Did any Post-Gazette readers take the time to read the lengthy articles in the same issue (“Poor Health: A Special Report”) about members of our community/society who lack the resources to purchase basic health care for themselves or their families? Kudos to the Post-Gazette for publishing such articles.
