What is wrong with your editorial board? Are you just badly uninformed about recent Middle East history or do you have an inherent anti-Israel bias that clouds your memory and judgment? In Saturday’s editorial (“Blindness in Gaza: Leaders of Israel and Hamas Make Innocents Suffer,” July 19) you state peace will not come until Israel accepts a two-state solution and gives up its settlements.

Israel has always accepted a two-state solution. Hamas has openly opposed it and shouts its dedication to the destruction of Israel. Settlements? Less than 10 years ago Israel voluntarily uprooted all of its settlements in Gaza, sometimes forcefully, and left the Gaza Strip, turning over its greenhouses and encouraging commerce. And what did it get? Rockets.
