Guest relations worker's help reflects well on the Pittsburgh Pirates

I want to acknowledge the actions of a Pirates guest relations employee who went above the call of duty on Friday, July 18.

I have multiple sclerosis and have difficulty getting around. I was left off near the left field gate with the promise that a wheelchair would arrive shortly. It did, piloted by a young man named Christian, who got me settled and waited with me until my wife, Joan, could get parked. Thereafter he took me up to Section 105 and stayed until I got settled.

After the game Chris returned with the wheelchair and we went to a section of the ballpark closest to where Joan was parked. The game was sold out and it took a while for her to bring the car down. Chris stayed with me and made sure I got safely into the car.

This young man’s actions reflect well on the Pirates organization and the people who work for them. Our experience showed that handicapped fans can go to the games with confidence that the staff will accommodate their needs.
