It's not just liberals who want to rename the Washington Redskins

In response to Ray Rieber’s July 2 letter (“Redskins Nonsense”): The National Congress of American Indians pushed for boycotts of the Washington Redskins in 1988 when they played in Super Bowl XXII. Boycotts were also held in 1992 when Washington played in the Super Bowl in Minnesota by the American Indian Movement. Nary a peep?

Mr. Rieber then goes on to blame it on “liberals.” Unless liberal is yet another derogatory name for Native Americans I don’t understand why he lays the blame there. He should be red-faced (pun intended) for totally discounting the people who are actually being slurred and instead taking a shot at the “liberals” he so clearly despises.
