'Smidgen' of IRS wrongdoing?

As a certified public accountant I am required to keep my clients’ information for seven years. Why is the Internal Revenue Service not required to follow those same time requirements? The president said there was not a “smidgen” of evidence to show wrongdoing by the IRS. He was correct on that statement — there is a whole boatload of evidence! Destroying hard drives is over-the-top in illegality. I wonder how far up the chain of command the wrongdoing, coverup and lies go.

I have a diminishing sense of trust and confidence in all areas of government.
