Reject a coal future

Do we really need coal? Is it a thing of the past? Are we embracing a brighter and newer future, or is coal still necessary? That is on the minds of many people.

Before us we have an opportunity to embrace coal, bring in the blackness, accept what it does to our atmosphere, accept what it does to destroy our environment — or to say it’s time for a change, that it is time to reject what coal has done and what it continues to do to our atmosphere, what it continues to do to our environment and what it continues to do to those who work closely with it, like the coal miners who suffer from mining-related diseases.

It’s time that we step forward and look at this with honesty and sincerity in our hearts and say it is time that we truly make a change, that we stop embracing what was the past and embrace what is now a bright new future for our children if we say no to coal now.
