Obama lacks common sense, which leaders need

In response to Al Duerig’s June 9 letter (“The Obama-Haters Just Won’t Let the President Lead”): Mr. Duerig just does not get it. The president does not know how to lead, period. Mr. Obama might be a Harvard Law School magna cum laude graduate, but he does not have a lick of common sense, which a good leader needs.

I don’t know how Mr. Duerig came up with the definition of a terrorist and prisoner exchanges, but exchanges are done between two or more countries, not a bunch of thugs running around the world killing people for no reason.

As for letting Mr. Obama lead because he was properly elected as our leader: We have turned Mr. Obama loose and he has failed and taken this country right down the tubes with him.

Regarding Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, five good, honest soldiers in his platoon stated he is a deserter — good enough for this 85-year-old man who gave 26 years of his life to the military. Maybe you consider 26 years of military service, fighting in two wars in the infantry, not contributing to this country. Go to the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and you will find me listed there.

I recommend that Mr. Duerig stop drinking the Obama Kool-Aid and consider this: Mr. Obama has failed, but this country will never fall.
