Appeal the ruling

Gov. Tom Corbett may lose re-election if he doesn’t defend marriage. He must appeal the court decision throwing out Pennsylvania’s Defense of Marriage Law. There are two reasons:

1) In the fuzzy world of political thought, his opponent Tom Wolf is neutralizing Mr. Corbett’s image of responsibility by imitating the GOP and presenting himself as a socially conscientious businessman.

Thus defending marriage between man and woman becomes the key positive moral issue that can distinguish Mr. Corbett from his opponent since marriage between man and woman is popular with the grass roots. In virtually every state where the grass roots voted on it, they defended marriage by state referendum.

2) The second reason Mr. Corbett can lose is because by not defending marriage, he is killing the passionate enthusiasm of the conservative base.

It’s not too late for the governor to reverse course. May God help him to do so.
