Perspective, GOP

I would probably vote for a Republican if I thought he or she was a better person and would do a better job.

Having said that, I must say this repeated revival of the Benghazi incident is the result of adults acting like children and attempting to react, though very late, to the assassination of Osama bin Laden.

Of course, the Benghazi incident was tragic. But let’s put things in perspective.

If at any time a group of, say, 300 or more terrorists decided to attack any one of our embassies throughout the world, how many would be equipped to repel the attack? Not just now but anytime in these past 15 years? When one thinks about the horrendous effect bin Laden had on this past decade and a half, it is staggering. Yet there has been more extended attention on Libya than on that great moral victory we so desperately needed.

Millions of lives and billions of dollars have been affected by that man … yet President Barack Obama really did not flaunt the deed. Perhaps it is time for the GOP to get on with the real issues and try to learn from the Iraq War.
